Very sad. I’m a Michigan alumni and we “hated” this guy since he defeated Michigan, but by all accounts a very nice guy and that is far too young to die. Sad to hear.

In reading through the list, I found that Mike Grgich died at age 100. He was the winemaker at Chateau Montelena, a California winery whose Chardonnay won a blind tasting in Paris in 1976, shocking the French wine world (the 2009 movie Bottle Shock was based on that event).
I haven’t had a chance to browse through the whole list, but I bet there are some other interesting/overlooked passings there.
Probably not famous in the way most people here know but he was followed by millions. Somehow I don’t think anyone here had Mitten Squad.
