Slacker. If you applied yourself, you could go years without scoring a point! I’d have a perfect record if I hadn’t gotten lazy and went with throw-a-ways like the Queen of Bloody England and her corpse of a husband.
Woo hoo! I held on to my precious 53rd place!
Thirty-third place on the strength of a unique pick. I can live with that - no pun intended.
When do us zero pointers get our participation ribbon?
Congrats to the winners and many thanks to Baker.
Is it easy to figure out with the spreadsheet who the top 13 picks by the group as a whole were ( most picked celebs) , and what that list would have scored ?
Sort of easy but a bit time consuming.
Here’s a “bandwagon” list Baker posted in December 2022.
|Donald Trump|16|
|Shannen Doherty|16|
|Andy Taylor|14|
|Liza Minnelli|11|
|Pelé|11|
|Vladimir Putin|11|
|Barbara Walters|10|
|Bill Cosby|8|
|Bob Barker|8|
|Jimmy Carter|8|
|Bam Margera|7|
|Bob Newhart|7|
|Mitch McConnell|7|
Pele and Walters died before December 31 so wouldn’t have counted for 2023 points.
Ten of the others survived 2023 and wouldn’t have scored any points.
So somebody jumping on the 2023 bandwagon would have only scored one point for Bob Barker.
You get a red cross for saving lives.
It’s so unfair how I didn’t get any points just because I forgot to submit a 2023 list.
Also: I’m completely stunned to discover that Shecky Green hadn’t died decades ago.
Shannen Doherty | 33 |

The abOve is what the top fifteen picks at the end of 2022. Of all these only one passed, Bob Barker.

Awesome thanks all.
The Reaper is not finished yet. Jazz legend Les McCann died Sunday at age 88.
Actually Les died on Friday 12/29; his death was only reported on Sunday.
I have him on both my 2023 and 2024 themed lists so have requested that the additional points be added to my score in 2023 and that he be replaced by my alternate in 2024.
Now I’m going out to the car to get my Swiss Movement CD.
Also, Olympic cyclist Melissa Hoskins died Sunday after having been hit by a car. She was 32.
Her husband, Rohan Dennis, a two-time world time trial champion and a stage winner at the Tour de France, has been arrested and charged with causing her death.
-High Five!
And even though we both had three deaths, only Johnny Ruffo was in common.
My best finish so far. (And the first time in the top 10. I think my previous best was 12th.)
There was an artist named Alicia Rhett that died several years ago on Jan 2 I thinkl I had her, on a list of really old notables. I’d had two pass, for a total of three points, and all were unique. Rhett was a painter, and made one movie. She was the last living actress with a speaking role in Gone With the Wind. She’d played India Wilkes, Ashley’s sister. I read that after that role she got many offers for other films, but turned them down, prefering to go back to painting.
Forgot to mention, I did have Johns on a list in another board, giving me the First Cadaver award over there, if no points.
W00t! Thank you Johnny Ruffo for my first Top 10!
I think we missed noting the death of Jack Axelrod in November; announced in December. I stumbled across it looking up trivia on the My Name Is Earl cast.
Seems we have another late addition.
Actress Cindy Morgan, best known for her roles in Caddyshack and Tron was found dead at her home after her roommate returned from holiday travels. She was 69. No cause of death reported as yet.
Her reported date of death was December 30, 2023.
