Ellsberg’s memoir is one of the best books I’ve ever read. He had such a unique perspective on the war in Vietnam - he was both a Marine who braved firefights and a defense analyst with access to the highest levels of government.
And understanding his story definitely helps to better understand Watergate. Nixon’s plumbers were first directed at going after the leak that Ellsberg engendered.
He was a noble man.
