This year I did not put an alternate and got bit. I will definitely have an alternate this year. I wish for Jimmy to live to 110, but if he is this ill and his dear wife is gone, he may be ready.
If Jimmy lives to 2024 and if I put him on my list, he would live to 110. I’ve had whole lists of people over 95 and they rately oblige me. Sometimes maybe, with just one or two, I could get a unique, if not valuble, pick. Like this year, with Ben Ferencz.
If we do a life pool, I’ll add Jimmy just in support of me wanting him to make it.
Edit: I’d be up for moderating/managing a life pool if it is easy to do? I don’t have any experience with this. I’d love to have a spreadsheet that would calculate the math for me.
He’d probably die in the last days of December just to screw up everyone’s list, like a bunch of top prospects did last year. (We should have a Jeremiah Green Award for the person whose end-of-year death screws up the most lists for the coming year. The honoree would be the so-recently-deceased celeb, not a player.)
