2024/2025 NBA Regular Season Thread

Houston evened up with the Warriors, 3-3. Warriors showing their age? Game 7 in Houston; age and experience vs youth and the home crowd.

NBC Sports and John Tesh have announced that Roundball Rock is coming back to the NBA on NBC this fall when they get the rights back. I for one am excited.

Westbrook with the steal the dunk and the technical.

Denver revealed as really thin after the starting five. Westbrook contributes if he has some of the starters to rein him in. Denver up 30, Jokic makes a series of tired slap fouls (5).He and the rest of the starters were going to take off the 4th quarter. Clipper reserves cut the deficit in half with Westbrook becoming a turnover machine. Starters had to come back in for a few minutes to stem the tide.

Been a long season, don’t see them getting by a fresh, rested, and young Thunder team which goes ten deep.

Wow, Pacers took game 1 in Cleveland. Did not see that coming!

Pacers showed up and showed out in Game 1! This will be a competitive series. I think it’ll go 7.

Looks like it will be GS vs Timberwolves in the next round, as GS showed Houston the door in game seven last night. Draymond Green got a flagrant for his usual assholish behavior on the court.

Amen Thompson with the pretty move in the loss.

So, I’m wondering why Cleveland, which was so dominant in the east during the regular season, could be eliminated at home by the lowest eastern team in the playoffs. The only reason I can think of is the same reason the Lakers were eliminated, and that’s because playoff basketball has significantly more physicality and defense than the run-and-gun-at-will regular season. If I’m missing something, please tell me what it is.

Well, it’s just one game, they haven’t been eliminated. This is actually their third loss in a row to the Pacers, so its not even that surprising.

You’re right! I was thinking of the rockets, who were actually 2nd and the Warriors, who were actually 7th, not last. Other than that, my question was totally accurate. LOL

Oh yeah, as far as the Rockets vs Golden State goes I think it was just a big difference in experience. The Warriors are a battle hardened former championship team that has been in situations like this over and over for the past… decade and a half and the Rockets are the young up and comers. The Warriors also got all star Jimmy Butler near the end of the season, which makes them a lot more dangerous than their record indicates.

The most recent two Cleveland losses to the Pacers in the regular season were after the Cavs had clinched the #1 seed, and they played all their scrubs.

Two exciting comebacks on successive nights! On Sunday, it was the Knicks coming back to beat the Celtics. Yesterday, it was Denver coming back to beat OKC.

Jokic was wilt-tastic. He was chamber-liscious.

Except that his team won.

Hah!!

My God.

How bout dem PACERS?!

I’m not sure if a stake in the heart will stop them.

Wow, I went to bed thinking they were going to miss the chance to go up 2-0 against the hurt Cavaliers, but they pulled off the comeback.

Apparently this is the first time in history all four road teams win game 1. Road teams are currently 5-0 in the second round.
