Man, that is rough. I remember the first time we saw a Maiden album cover back in 1980. It was disturbing enough as it was, without being on acid at the time as well.
“Doc Savage-Man Of Bronze Casket ”
Harry Turtledove was off by sixteen years.

Never mind - already cited.
Elizabeth Francis has died at age 115. She is only famous for her age.
Reminds me of a joke by Michael Che:
(Paraphrased)
A nun, believed to be the world’s oldest person has died at the age of 118. The cause of death was listed as “answered prayer.”

Thomas Jefferson survives.
The lesson there is that, if you start running, you will die eight years later.
“All I know is that Richard Burton (notoriouslly hard-living actor) lived longer than Jim Fixx. (famous running advocate)”
Attributed to pro football quarterback Sonny Jurgenson
Yeah, I mean Keith Richards has smoked forever(did he ever quit?). Best we can do is make the healthiest decisions possible and hope for the best.
I suppose Lady Bird Johnson lived a long time, but she quit drinking for a long time and probably healed her body.

He supposedly quit smoking in 2019 and other substances earlier than that. Still drinks.
It makes me think of…a movie with Michael J. Fox. I can’t remember which one.
This older guy lights up a cigarette and Fox says, “Hey, aren’t those things bad for you?”
The older guy says something like, “I’m 80-something years old. Everything is good for me!”
EDIT: ChatGPT says it is The Frighteners, but I think that only highlights how bad ChatGPT can be. That isn’t it, I don’t think.
That is funny. Burton checked out less that three weeks after Fixx, and the age difference was only six points. But Fixx was not a life-long health fanatic: he started running at age 35, after being a heavy smoker. It seems as though what killed him was the unexpected fame.

Fixx also had some very bad genetic factors.
