Always.
Home Depot co-founder and philanthropist-turned-old-man-shouting-at-clouds Bernie Marcus.
I’d met him once, and had a lot of respect for the culture he’d inculcated into Home Depot (one of the first big-box retailers to offer benefits for same-sex couples), and the amount of money he gave away. But he was a billionaire, and in his last years turned into a MAGAt, whinging about “wokeness” and “nobody wants to work anymore.”
He sure ain’t working anymore.
Former ABC13 anchor Chauncy Glover dies in Los Angeles at age 39.
Don’t think anybody had him - it would have been a whopping 61 points. No cause of has been released. He had a rough bout of covid a couple of years ago, but at that age I’m wondering if it wasn’t natural causes.
Judy Love has opened her last travel stop.
I know this was a long time ago, but I wonder how much grief and shock of his son’s death affected him. He was young to die at 69 and healthy for the most part. He had a major stroke.
I’ve mentioned it before, but I have an acquaintance and his son was killed in the line of duty as a police officer. My acquaintance’s wife, the boy’s mother, died just about 1-2 years later. He insisted she never recovered from her son’s death and just deteriorated. I believe him. She was only in her 60’s as well.
I believe it. My mother, only 57, died a year and a half after my sister’s suicide. She wasn’t the healthiest, but I’m convinced her death was caused in part from the stress and grief.
Sorry to hear about this. There really is something that we can call “a broken heart” that I think can just collapse immune systems and create actual physical health problems.
I had zero one year and then Christopher Hitchens and Kim Jong Il died in rapid succession and I got two.
Model Georgina Cooper has died of a sudden illness at age 46. The exact nature of the illness isn’t clear but apparently she’s had ongoing health problems since a past bout with Covid.
Actress June Spencer has died at the age of 105.
She played the character of Peggy Woolley on the British soap opera The Archers from 1950 until her recent retirement in 2022 (at the age of 103).
Thank you for these. I update the Life Pool when someone of this age dies.
Tony Todd, known for Star Trek, Candyman, and one of my favourite shows Chuck, dies aged 69.
Oh my goodness it’s just about three weeks until the next picks can be posted. Let’s go all out for 2025!
Ooh, boy that one sucks. Loved Tony Todd in anything he was in. Way too young.
He was one of those actors who shined in even the worst projects. I always thought he deserved better opportunities
