I have vague memories from before I was 3. I remember the layout of the foster-care receiving home my parents ran for a few months, one of those split-level ranch styles. The basement was the living unit for my family. The main floor was where the rooms for the kids in the system. (I think there were 8 rooms total in two separate wings with a living room, dining room, and kitchen in the middle. I do have a fairly vivid memory from when I was a toddler of getting on a step stool and grabbing one of those orange-handled ice cream scoops with the thumb press lever to release the scoop and hitting my sister on the back of the head with it, drawing a bit of blood because she was relentlessly picking on me. (It was her 7th birthday, I was 5 months out from 3 at the time.) It’s genuinely one of the only explicit memories I have from before I was 4.
I would say that Preschool, Kindergarten, and 1st grade made up the time when my memories were being formed on a regular basis. While I have a few memories before Preschool, they are sparse and unclear…and kind of unsure.
I remember being 5 and going to “Sparks”, a little kid thing at church. I remember my Uncle visiting form England in 1983 when I was 4 1/2.
But school brought about regular, consistent memories.
Paul Ehrlich died on March 13th (I didn’t find it earlier in this thread).
As some WAG onTwitter noted, he is survived by 8,300,678,394 people (134% increase from 1968), who have a daily worldwide average calorie intake of 2,800 kcal (a 22% increase).
Japanese voice actress passes away. Apart from lots and lots of animation work, Ikeda had done the Japanese dubs for pretty much all of Audrey Hepburn’s films and assorted others (including, surprisingly, Debbie Reynolds’ role in Singin’ In The Rain).
