Charlie Kirk's Mentor Jeff Webb Dead After Pickleball Accident
The cheerleading tycoon and media mogul previously described Kirk as a "future president."
as well as one other guy
Are you saying that C. S. Lewis and JFK were the same person?
I never saw the two of them together at the same time so it’s possible. ![]()
Points for me, but even with 18 more, I remain in second place.
Another interesting coincidence is that Mahatma Gandhi and Orville Wright both died on January 30, 1948.
I know the death of beloved Australian author, Colin Thiele, would probably not have been the headline story on the evening news anyway when he died on 4 September 2006, but a certain documentarian/conversationist/zoologist/tv personality was filming a swim with the stingrays that day and…
So this happened…

There had seemed to be some discussion about the news of one person’s death being overshadowed by another’s. I thought I was contributing to that discussion. Apparently I misunderstood?
ETA: At any rate, when I was first reading C.S. Lewis, a little over seven years later, it took me awhile to determine whether or not he was still living, and I think part of that was that the news of his passing was totally drowned out at the time.
I’d have hardly thought one could get killed in a pickleball accident. I have little idea of how it’s played (my mind’s still going: there’s a sport called pickleball? really?! even though it’s been years since I’ve first heard about it), but it seems to have really taken off among retired people.

Pickleball involves running around on a concrete court. Apparently Webb tripped and struck his head on the concrete. Head injuries like that can be serious, even fatal.

I believe Superdude was making a joke. Eschereal’s link was about Aldous Huxley’s death, which also occurred on November 22, 1963. By referring to Huxley as the “one other guy” who died on that date, you can see an implication that Lewis and Kennedy are being counted as a single person.
Yeah, exactly this.
And everyone forgets Aldous Huxley.
Who?

Okay - this makes sense. I guess I figured that pickleball was played on a softer court. Though “died in a bizarre pickleball accident” sounds like something that would have happened to a Spinal Tap drummer.
Yeah, it sounds funny, but it really just boils down to (probably) a head injury on a hard surface.

It’s like saying saying Bob Saget died from a cabinet or kitchen injury. Likely, he bumped his head really hard or tripped and fell and hit his head, laid down, and unfortunately died from the head trauma.
Heads are tough, but it is scary how one can get a fatal injury easily.
I’ve thought about my full bathroom and getting handles/supports installed. It has an odd shape and a hard counter, etc.

Only after the soma kicks in.
The values of Pockets Warhol’s paintings are likely to increase now, though not as high as his namesake.
A 33 year old monkey who’d recently had a stroke. That sounds like the setup to a Norm Macdonald gag.
