Dammit. Dolly Parton was not the person I wanted to hear about dying at 80.
I had her on my short list, but she didn’t make the final cut. Dammit again.
Honestly, all the wrong 80+ folks are dying instead of a few I can think of that really should.
I refuse to accept that Dolly Parton has died. I prefer to think of her as having been “translated to heaven”.
I guess when we asked the Grim Reaper to take the wig-wearing 80-year-old who wears a lot of makeup and loves kids, with needed to be much more specific.
I remember watching her on The Gong Show. Jaye P. Morgan gone at six points.
I only knew her from that show. And I’m sorry I missed this episode, in which she briefly bared her breasts. (At about the 1:16 mark, if you’re interested…)
I was a big fan of the Gong Show back in the day, and I always wondered “who the hell is Jaye P. Morgan?” Was she an actual celebrity or just famous for being on game shows?
She was a pop singer in the 50s and 60s
Add her to the “People I thought had died decades ago” list. I remember Morgan being very funny on The Gong Show but didn’t know her backstory until now.

Also: I took him off my list this year, alas.
I of course loved him in the Rocky Horror Picture show, but I liked his other roles as well. And in the late 80’s I heard an interview with him on the radio. He was in Lansing Michigan as part of a production of 42nd Street. He said that no matter what he was working on the first thing anyone wanted to know about was that movie.
