2026 Celebrity Death Pool

The Game Room
1942

Sorry, but when I saw that name my first thought was didn’t she pass away a long
time ago? But then I realized I was thinking of Margaret Hamilton the actress, best
known for playing the Wicked Witch of the West in the Wizard of Oz “I’ll get you,
my pretty, and your little dog, too!”

1943

You weren’t the only one.

1944

I bet a lot of us made the same mistake.

1945

The odds of there being two Margaret Hamiltons must be astronomical. Craaaaaazy! You know who could calculate those odds? Margaret Hamilton.

1946

Margaret Hamilton the actor gave up 18 points, 41 years ago (before most of us were playing Death Pool).

Margaret Elaine (Heafield) Hamilton was a few years younger than the actor, except from about 2018 on.

1947

I have her Lego figurine.

ETA: Hamilton also coined the term “software engineering”.

1948

Yep. I presumed she had melted.

mmm

1949

Nope. it was this woman.

1950

That has to be the most famous picture of her.

1951

A blue block saying “Uploading this content requires registration”?

1952

She sure was photogenic, wasn’t she?

It worked for about 5 minutes. There’s a picture of her standing next to the computer code used to send the astronauts to the moon. It’s taller than her.

1953

Oh, I have seen that. And I must confess that to me, Margaret Hamilton will always be the Wicked Witch of the West. Or that lady from Maxwell House coffee.

1954

She was also Morticia’s mother in three eps of The Addams Family.

1955

As represented in the Lego version above.

I like how the Lego designers, at a loss on how to add some detail to a representation of a very simple picture, just went “Fuck it - let’s put in the coat rack.”

1956

Mike Ditka has died.

1957

I guess maybe he was only podcast famous, but I really admired this man:
Curtis Flowers, US man wrongfully imprisoned for 22 years, dies aged 56 | Mississippi | The Guardian

1958

I wonder when they’ll have DA BURIAL…

1959

His casket will be placed on da bier.

1960

Was Ditka a good coach? I know he got the Bears a Super Bowl, but how does he rank overall? Pretty effective? I know he was famous, those SNL sketches helped a lot.

1961

NurseCarmen moves up 9 rungs and Czarcasm is no longer tied for 82nd place.
