For fans of 24, due to the writer’s strike, this season was, sort of, cancelled.
Now the plans are to air a two hour prequel that will air in the Fall, to bridge the gap between this (missed) season and the next.
It has been announced that Cherry Jones (for those who don’t know her, she is a major NYC Broadway star, openly Lesbian and a fantastic actress) will be playing the “first woman President” in the show.
24 wasn’t “sort of” canceled this year. It WAS canceled this year and delayed into next year And it sucks.
But this “bridge movie” news makes me happy. I’d love to see the 24 writers work in a more condensed environment where the “one day” time period doesn’t make some of their plot choices look silly.
My question, as it has been since 2001, when they do a 24 feature film, will it cover 24 hours and sacrifice the “real time” or does it maintain the “real time” and cover a couple of hours? I guess we’ll find out soon enough!
