24: Season 4: Episode 15 (9:00pm - 10:00pm)

How would you like to write the dialogue for Tony? Just make sure to include plenty of “yeahs”. He says it better than anyone. Yeah.

It’s sort of wierd to see President Palmer doing those state farm commercials during the show, I think the terrorists are going to blow up something so he can collect a huge insurance premium, and we will find out that he was behind the whole thing.

I don’t think that attack will be a suicide mission, because Marwan commented “It’s time to earn your money”. If you signed up for the cash, would you kill yourself?

I’m very tired of Edgars whining, what’s up with every tech. person acting like such an ass? Even the girl they called on for help had an attitude.

Looks like a torture session finally worked…I mean great job CTU of hurting another innocent.

I think it would be poetic justice if the target is CTU headquarters.

Is this the last season they can drag out Jack’s ability to escape every situation? This poster thinks so.

Well, even though we all felt a little sorry for the B’vehr after a while, he was hardly an innocent. He was well-aware of his parents’ terrorist plans and went along with them for years, until they decided he should kill his little American girlfriend. Even though he killed two people today who were far worse than him, I’m not crying for the B’vehr, Argentina.

Been there, done that.

until I saw the stealth fighter I was guessing that they were just going to have him pose as an escort fighter. I don’t know enough about military protocol but I was assuming that the fighter cover would be switched out after so many hours in the air. You’re probably right about them just assuming people wouldn’t know the capabilities of the F117. The other thing is that I believe it shows up on radar just find from the air. And, if you know where it is, I believe it could be tracked just find from the ground as well.

Yeah, innocent was a poor choice of words. I should have said that they were once again trying to force information out of someone who had no information. I know they could not have known for sure, but it seems like they sure have picked all the wrong ponies to bet on so far this season.

Been there done that could apply to a lot of what happens during 24, unfortunately. I still think it is one of the top 3 dramas on television, but it is losing its power over me fast.

More likely scenario: President lands for his meeting and Opie The Terrorist attempts to drop the bomb. Too bad he forgot to fix the “whatchamacalithinger”, because his plane starts to malfunction before he gets off a clean shot, causing him to miss his target badly.

I thought using CD-Rs was just another example of government waste. If they want to archive the information, they need a different medium. So you might as well use CD-RWs so you don’t go through a gazillion CD-Rs in one day.

But maybe CTU buys them at a discount in bulk at Costco.

Where was Heller during this episode? I vaguely remember him leaving last week but don’t recall where or why. I suspect the ‘why’ is that the crafty bastard is the mastermind behind this whole thing, but thats just a guess on my part, and I’m the idiot who has maintained that Audrey was a baddie the whole time. Meanwhile, she spends the last two episodes blubbering over her half-dead, half-seperated husband.

Darn Rikwriter and his irresistable spoiler boxes. I kinda figured that one, though.

Chloe and Edgar remind me of the interactions of my seven year-old niece and four year-old nephew. I’m all for a bombing of CTU just to shut them the hell up.

I don’t think the pilot is too worried about the mechanical failure. The mechanic who got killed (and mysteriously disappeared in about 5 minutes while another whole crew came on duty) said that the problem would only affect him on landing.

He’s probably not worried about landing.

The only reason to burn something to a CD-R would be to bring it into or out of a classified network to an unclassified one, or to mail it somewhere. That can’t be what they were doing, though, because they were able to send the stuff to the other girl’s workstation. Umm, why can’t she just send it back the same way? Silly writers.

I was surprised that the mechanic boss doesn’t know the people that work for him. Ok, random guy who doesn’t work here, I’ll accept your report and clear the plane for takeoff, even though you’re not the same guy who I told to fix the plane.

Was the technobabble about the plane problem anywhere near realistic? I’m guessing not, judging by how bad they messed up all the computer lingo.

Hmm, Heller is mysteriously absent… even though you all basically proved me wrong, I still think Heller is with the bad guys.

That bugged me too. They can send the entire blueprints of the Death Star to Jack’s Palm in about eight seconds, but a text file they gotta burn and walk upstairs? Feh.

Edgar and Chloe are annoying me. Chloe seems to have reverted to the way she was last season (“OMG, shut up and get off my television screen!”) and Edgar’s going right along with her.

Like I said during the episode, at this point you know someone is innocent because CTU is torturing them. Hurting innocent people and letting the baddies go is dramatic, tortuing bad guys is vindictive and I guess they don’t want us to enjoy that.

I’ve been underwhelmed by the last two hours, myself. Maybe they’re ready for things to get going again now.

I still don’t understand Marwan’s great interest in Berhooz. My guess is that

Marwan is really Berhooz’s father.

Which I really hope isn’t the case because that would mean this season of 24 will steep to even lower levels of predictable suckage than I ever thought possible.

Am I being whoosed? No, he isn’t his father, he’s just his dad’s boss. You must have gotten a snack when it was revealed that this whole hostage thing was just a distraction to keep CTU to busy to notice the recent police reports.

Meanwhile, Jack’s stab wound has fully healed, thanks to his being Wolverine’s 3rd cousin. I do like the reduced use of kidnapping of family members this year.

This episode was boooooorrrrrringgggg!!!

Oh it’s a suicide mission. Opie just doesn’t realize it yet. And if he does survive they’ll get him anyway.

Seem like the terrorist have basically killed all the non-Arab accomplices (as well as a bunch of their own).

Yeah, yeah the sexpot is still alive, I know. But who knows what secret package they’ve installed in her car like they did for Maryanne.

Can we please have more lingering shots of the THE CDR laying on a stack of other CDRs? Because I don’t think it has been made clear enough that Edgar keeps a messy station, and that in the shuffle the CDR is going to get lost.

I think it should have been rewritten like so:

Meg: Here’s that important information.
Edgar: Just put it on that pile! I’m busy!
Meg: Okay. I going to put this UNLABELED RED CDR on this stack of other unlabeled maroon, crimson, cherry red, blood red and scarlet CDRs.

Forgot to mention: Terrorist Chatter

I was just goofin when they mentioned Terrorist Chatter. I sat there wondering, “Do they really talk about terrorism all the time, or do they have a MPSIMS that also gets picked up as chatter?”

CTU Analyst: Here is the latest batch of ‘chatter’ translations.
Michelle: Anything important?
CTU Analyst: There was a flamewar over whether you should wiped you ass standing up or sitting down, but most standers were able to yell down the sitters towards the end.
:}

Just my own crazy opinion, but most of the terrorist chater is probabley variations on the following:

Not really. IIRC, the problem was some sort of hairline fracture to a pin. I can’t figure out a way for a sensor to notice that. Normally to check for something like that, you’d perform a hardness test or more likely, magnetic flouroscopy, this is normally tested for during a overhaul or some other type of maintenance where the part is already removed from the airframe.

Well there was the little comment by Marwan, when asked what to do with Behrooz, where he said “I haven’t decided yet”.

It is kind of interesting that he wouldn’t just kill him. Then you have the fact that Behrooz most likely realizes that the “good guys” are just as bad as he’s always been told, and they even caused his mom’s death (Marwan will probably tell him that Jack did it).

I think Behrooz is going to become a full-time terrorist, since he’ll finally understand and believe in the cause.

Actually, the rules we’ve always gone by in here have been to put any discussion like that (previews for next week, etc) in spoiler boxes. The unspoilered stuff can consist of anything that’s already happened from the regularly aired episode as of the EST airing time (and speculations based on those things that have aired, of course). Anything else goes in spoiler boxes.

Although I think it’s a good idea to preface a spoiler box with something like:
“Based on the scenes from next week…” or
“I heard this from a spoiler site…”

If a post has nothing but a spoiler box, it will often confuse and frustrate folks who don’t watch next week’s scenes, like Max Carnage, who doesn’t know what’s safe to read.

On a related note, to see a fun and exciting round of Confuse Max Carnage[sup]TM[/sup], just check out the week 15 thread from season 2.

Would he really buy that? Behrooz would know it’s CTU’s fault his mother was in the field anyway.
