Just the other day I was looking at the special features for “24” season 3 on DVD and I noticed a commentay including the woman who plays Chloe. Which got me to wondering what she’s like in real life. Has anyone here listened to that?
Unless they had her doing the commentary in character. Which could have been pretty funny…
“Oh, here’s where Jack puts his big plan into motion. I don’t think that’s a very good idea.”
I thought Chloe deserved a spinoff show of her own, actually! Besides Jack, she was my favorite character.
Of course, the actress, Mary Lynn Rajskub (something like that) used to be on Mr. Show with David Cross and Bob Odenkirk, so she can be pretty damn funny.
Og kill me now if that happens. Chloe is my third most hated character on the series, and since the first two are dead, she’s now #1 for season 4! Her personality is like a cheese grater on my face!
Does anyone know if this season will be shown straight through? You know, like a new episode every week until the season is over as opposed to two new shows, repeat, new show, repeat, …
I never remember Fox showing repeats, but I do remember hearing around the end of last season that there would be no breaks in the broadcasts. So there’s two episodes Sunday, two episodes Monday, and then one episode every Monday @ 9 for 20 straight weeks.
I’ll go find the “rules” from the previous years and post them here.
And, from KneadToKnow in that thread, also with edits:
I’m not nearly disciplined enough to avoid 24 while it’s on, but godspeed to those of you who will be full 24 Club members. I don’t know if Knead will be around to start these threads, so I’ll be happy to pick up the slack if need be.
A bit of latitude to answer this question, your honor. (Answering this question doesn’t spoil the content of the episodes.) Per THE STAR tabloid 01/17/05 pg. 82, " … Episodes air weekly right up until the finale, without a break or a repeat."
I’ll be watching for as long as I can, but I don’t have the wherewithal to join the 24 club and wait until the end of the season to see any of it. I need instant gratification.
And I’m not sure how long it’s going to last for me. Season 2 was one of my favorite TV series ever, but I didn’t even bother watching most of season 3. It really felt like they were making it up as they went along, and there was never a real threat.
Plus, there’s no point if Michelle’s not around.
You said it. She’s really only got one character – basically, a slightly less annoying version of Chloe – but she’s great at it. She’s master of the “what the hell is your problem?” face. She also is (or was at one point) half of a comedy act with another woman, where they do folk songs about dating and periods and the smug women who work at clothing stores. And plus she had IMO the only funny part in Run, Ronnie, Run, where she was talking about all the stuff she wished for.
Yes! The Girls’ Guitar Club! I saw them open for Jeanane Garofalo once and they were hilarious. One of their bits was playing “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” as an earnest protest anthem and it’s my absolute favorite cover of that song ever.
I love Chloe. I fear I am just like her at work, where I am exceptionally competent but probably really annoying about it. Whatever, nobody dies on my watch.
On the Season 3 DVD extras, there is about a 5 minute “teaser” that occurs prior to Season 4 beginning. It shows things that happen before Season 4, that I do not believe are going to be shown in Season 4. It’s good, but not worth buying the set for by itself.
Kiefer mentioned something related to this on the Charlie Rose show last night. The way the show’s scheduled this year means that they had finished shooting 14 episodes before they had to send the first ep to Fox, so they were able to go back and tweak things in early episodes to make sure they sync up with what happens later. Hopefully things will be more cohesive this season.
OK, I’m off work now and have no Internet access at home, but I’ll be sure to post 24, Season 4, Episodes 1-2 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM on Sunday by 8 Eastern.
