Nah, Chloe wouldn’t be a mole. They’ve already established her as totally loyal and trustworthy to Jack over the years. It would be too out of the blue to make such a move. Tony at least had some explainable motive for his erratic actions in season 5, then 7 – Michelle’s death.
Chloe will be good at barking orders. And she won’t take back-talk. “Stop asking me questions, and just do it!”
Sniper dude is going to wish he’d never been born. And I hope Jack goes back and does a REAL interrogation of Dana – none of this immunity deal crap.
Grrrrr. Everyone in the continental U.S. save Chloe, the President, and a few trusted others MUST DIE!
I was actually more surprised that they let Chloe run things than that they killed Renee… but was still not thrilled at all that she got taken out. I suppose the good side of it is that Jack gets to run wild for the next several hours, but still… Poor Renee!
Seriously, and that isn’t something I often say about 24, I don’t see how the Computer Guy would be a good manager. Better to hire Jack for the position.
They really threw the real time thing to the wind in this episode.
President Logan appears at the Air Force like they beamed him in there minutes after the President said she’d talk to him. And he knew, through the Russians, that the wife of the dead President had agreed to take over as leader, instantaneously.
And no ambulance could have gotten Renee to the hospital as fast as that taxi did.
Wasn’t the Russian assassin supposed to be waiting for further orders? So just to be prepared, he goes ahead and kills some random guy just to set up an observation nest. Then he kills Renee right after she starts talking about recognizing him just like he was worried about, however I don’t see how he could have known that without reading her lips or having some kind of tap on Jack’s phone.
Did I miss something?
And Troi passed her Bridge Officer exam so she can run the Enterprise just fine!
YES! I was interested to see what was going to happen between Jack and Renee when everything was over. Instead, they killed one of the coolest characters they have had on the show.
Jack must be Super Pissed now.
I’m wondering if they made the decision to off her before or after they learned the show was cancelled. Because it would have been a nice way for the show to go out, with the prospect that Jack might have a life beyond CTU and someone special to share it with.
Killing her feels like gratuitous boilerplate manipulation to make Jack MAD. Again. Now, I think the series should end with Jack’s death (and throw Logan in there for good measure). Screw any future “movie” plans–let Jack go out in a fight. He’s earned it.
I predicted she’d die horribly the second I saw her. She was practically a Raggedy-Ann doll, missing only a Chevy Tee and her mom’s apple pie recipe. I took one look and told my wife she’d probably be shot in the face.
True, Jack’s woman getting killed has happened before. But the main previous time I remember (Terri), she died at the very end of the season, and the killer was already in custody. So I’m all about super-angry-revenge-Jack kicking some ass.
Logan being back is (of course) contrived, but that doesn’t mean it won’t make for good TV. Now all we need is:
-Tony
-Mandy, the frequently naked lesbian assassin
and
-Secret Service agent Aaron Pierce (is that his name?)
and the gang will truly all be here. Those of the gang who are still alive, that is.
The character I most feel sorry for in all the years of this show is the middle-aged woman with a young boy that Jack was living with in Mexico when he was hiding out. They seemed to have a genuine relationship and I felt bad when he unceremoniously dumped her to go back to CTU. I’d like him to end up with her.
