250 mb of Hotmail?

I signed into my hotmail now and I found out I have 250mb! I used to only have 2mb. I checked with my other hotmail account and it still only has 2mb and I checked with some friends and they also have 2mb. Has this happened to anyone else and can anyone explain it?

Nope. Lucky illegitimate son.

Odd. I have 3 hotmail addresses and two are still 2MB but one is 250MB now.

I did a search and it turns out that MSN are upgrading http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20040624-3926.html and were meant to release it in July had it not been for Yahoo! Seems that G-mail has upped the competition…

Mine was upgraded sometime between 6pm Nov 9 and 6:30am NOv 10 (CST)
Others have had thier accounts upgraded earlier.

Brian

Now all 3 are 250mb. Yehaw, no more having to delete old messages to make room.

Me too; the upgrade just happened - although actually, that’s not true; Hotmail Member Services sent me a message (which I usually ignore) saying it would happen ‘later this year’.

Mine was upgraded to 2000MB sometime over the summer. I think that’s because I pay the $20/year for increased storage space.

Anyone know if the file size limit on attachments has been increased as well?

From the help file:

Mine just got switched over today, too.

Maybe now they’ll shut the F up with the “member services” e-mails, telling me I’m close to my limit.

A single attachment can only be up to 10mb though, according to the letter I got.

They’re still upgrading accounts, though? I would have thought they’d be done by now. Mine got upgraded ages ago

One of my three accounts suddenly swelled to 250 MB. Of course, I switched over to gmail along time ago, but my hotmail still sees plenty of action.

Poor suckers. Earlier this year Yahoo! gave everybody an upgrade to a GB of memory.

LIES! Yahoo only gives 100MB for the free accounts.

Yeah I think prisoner6655321 means Gmail. :stuck_out_tongue:
