27 actors, 1 movie (a really hard game)

Valeria Golino from Clean Slate?

And Jon Cryer from Pretty in Pink, right?

 I think you’re on a roll

Bridges, Galino, and Cryer were all in Hot Shots!

you are most definitely on a roll, and maybe a croissant, too.

A bit stuck right now though…

I really want to put Hoffman and Pacino together in Dick Tracy, but Balaban and Hoffman were also together in Midnight Cowboy, which would be a nice touch.

I think I’m getting somewhere… are you looking for William Sasso from Happy Gilmore?

why yes, yes I am

I am not going to comment on that guess other than to say the key may well be in the 9th level two actor who has yet to be identified

And Glenne Headly from Doctor Detroit, right?

So we get closer to the end:

Headly, Hoffman and Pacino were all in Dick Tracy.
Posey, Balaban and Sasso were all in Best in Show.

Which means we need actors from:

Best in Show
Dick Tracy
Best in Show

I’ve got it…

I think you mean
Hot Shots
Dick Tracy
Best in Show

Hot Shots - Cary Elwes
Dick Tracy - Mandy Patinkin
Best in Show - Christopher Guest

INCONCEIVABLE!!

yeah - I knew this was an easy one

nnnnnext?

(or better)

Why you keep saying that? I do not think that word means what you think it means?

It wasn’t that easy. Those movies with lots and lots of characters are tough, especially when you have to really dig through them. I don’t know why I was having so much trouble with Doctor Detroit. I saw (the lovely) Ms. Headly at once, and for some reason thereafter had a total mental block on her.

As you wish.

At that point, of course, I didn’t know where the thing was going to end. This Mr. Balaban is like a lesser known Kevin Bacon. Tremendously versatile.
