27 actors, 1 movie (a really hard game)

in any case- well played
i’m going to sleep now - perhaps there’ll be a new game waiting when I wake up?

Not to criticise your puzzle at all – it was excellent – but I’ve been trying for a certain pattern in my own level three movies. I’ve been going for movies where that not only include three actors, but those who have a special relationship to each other. In Capricorn One, for instance, I could have said OJ Simpson, Hal Holbrook, and David Huddleston, but instead chose the three astronauts. In Three Amigos, I chose the three Amigos. If the target movie was to be Hannah and Her Sisters, I probably would have made the three actresses the ones who played Hannah. And her two sisters.

I think it lends a certain elegance to the puzzle.

Once again, that’s not to criticise anyone else’s choices. It’s just my roundabout way of saying that I really wanted to do The Princess Bride for my next puzzle. Except I would have chosen Wallace Shawn, Mandy Patenkin, and Andre the Giant.

Vincent Spano
G.D. Spradlin
Tom Waits

Gene Wilder

I’m going for a little more difficult than last time, so it may not quite have the elegance that tdn is looking for… we shall see.

Whitaker, Leigh and Cage were in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

So was Judge Reinhold.

This is incorrect (from a puzzle POV).

Nicholas Cage, Vincent Spano, Tom Waits - Rumble Fish
Anjelica Huston, Christopher Lloyd, Jessica Lange - The Postman Always Rings Twice
Gene Hackman, Michael J. Pollard, Gene Wilder - Bonnie & Clyde

Taking guesses on the 4th actor from each of those - Dennis Hopper, Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty.

Pollard/Hackamn/Wilder - Bonnie & Cylde - Estelle Parsons

Keaton/Kirby/Spradin - Godfather Part II - Talia Shire

Yes on all three films. No on all three actors.

Anyrose, both of your films are correct. Both of the actors are incorrect.

(I’m having some response issues when posting, so be patient if you don’t see anything from me)

Rumble Fish - Mickey Rourke
B&C - Faye Dunaway
Postman/Twice - Michael Lerner
GF2 - Robert DeNiro

Shibbie, baby - are any of the movies “made for TV”?

All incorrect. No made for TV movies, I’m 99.9% certain.

certainly narrows down Pleshette’s choices -but its still tough
BUT I FOUND IT
Nevada Smith Pleshette/Landau/Malden - and the 4th is Steve McQueen?

Howard/Leigh/JTWalsh - Backdraft - and I’m going to say DeNiro again - somethings tells me you’v used him somewhere

Yes on Nevada Smith (well done!) and Backdraft.

Still no correct actors.

Rumble Fish - Diane Lane
Bonnie & Clyde - Denver Pyle
Postman/Twice - John Colicos
GFpart2 - Al Pacino

Denver Pyle is correct. All the others, not so much.

Nevada Smith - Brian Keith
Backdraft - Kurt Russell

ok - not to question your research or transpostion abilities
but did you maybe mean Susan Kellerman?
