I gather its from the bible, but you see the 3:16 verse being used in quite a few places now, and not just Austin 3:16. What in the heck does it mean? Which book of the bible in particular is it refering too?

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that

That would be John 3:16 “For God so love the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

At a WWF Pay Per View entitled ‘King of the Ring 1996’
the finals of the tournament was a guy called Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.
Jake was known for saying John 3:16 here and there.
And when austin beat him in the match he said something along these lines…
“You talk about your psalms and your John 3:16, well AUSTIn 3:16 says i just kicked you ass”
then it clicked with him and now its on T-Shirts all over the world.
