30-something NY (straight) New York Guys, Wanna be in a Magazine?

From a friend of mine: if you’re interested, please e-mail Marcia.Menter@meredith.com.

“We’re looking for one or two men in their 30s to fill out our men’s roundtable, which will take place Tuesday evening, October 12 in a Manhattan location to be determined. Candidates need to have dated both women over 40 and women under 40, and they should be willing to talk candidly about the pros and cons of dating in each age range. They need to agree to use their real names, and to be photographed. What they get in return: Food, drink, immortality.”

Any takers? E-mail Marcia, not me.

Oops, said “New York” twice in the headline.

Mods, if this request is not kosher, please slap me on the wrist and eliminate it.

But isn’t it the city so nice they named it twice? So you have guys from NY, New York–tell them to start spreading the news, they’re going to be a part of it, a chick magazine roundtable in old New York.

What if you’ve dated one woman and she turned 40 during the relationship, does that count?

I suppose they figure that if they can make it there with ladies on either side of age 40, they can make it anywhere!

Well, darn! I just turned 40, so I don’t qualify.

Plus, I’ve never lived in New York.

I fit the bill, and I’m game if needed, and have sent an e-mail to that effect.

This ought to be interesting.

Thanks! Sorry it has to be only straight guys and New Yorkers–cuts out a lotta Dopers. It will be especially interesting if it turns out your real name actually is Happy Scrappy Hero Pup.

“So, tell us, Mr. Pup . . .”

“Oh, call me Happy!”

HSHP – tell us the magazine if you make it in! We’ll have much fun speculating as to which of the urbane/urban studmuffins is our own pup.

I dont’ quite make the cut.
I am 39 and will still be 39 on the 12th but I’ve never dated a woman in the forties.

I dated a woman in the 20’s and the 80’s and even one in Queens but not one who lived in the 40’s.

Well, are we talking East or West? Makes all the difference.

What if we dated two women in their 20s?

Well, mathematically speaking, you’d have to be out with both of them at once.

And, in that case, the magazine is Penthouse.

Have you heard back from Marcia?

Not yet.
