32 Inch TV Recommendations?

Need to get a 32 inch tv for one of my family members in the house. We currently have a samsung 32’ lcd tv that we bought way back in 2010. Its still pretty good but we need another tv for the home.
I read that now theres other tvs available such as smart tvs etc. Are those smart tvs that much better than lcd or led tvs?
Would you say its best to stay with samsung and avoid the other brands such as LG and vizio and other brands? I know back then when i was trying to decide what tv to buy, it was either samsung or sony bravia.

This is the tv we currently have from many years ago.

Can someone recommend me a similar one? Also how come the price of it now is 500 dollars on amazon? I purchased it for much less back many years ago.

Im thinking its best to go with either the 2nd one or 3rd one. Thoughts on this? The first one… i read not that many good reviews and the 720p and 60hz. Howeer, the 2nd one which is same as 1st except 1080p and 120hz, ppl mention the exterior is very bad and its not samsung. Is that really bad? Lot of ppl mentioned this.
Also would i need a smart tv? I mean is it that better than an led tv? I can’t believe tv prices are so much cheaper now. Back then i went with a lcd as oppose to a led and this samsung 32’ led tv is basically less than 300 dollars.
We won’t have any cable tv. We would just want the TV to watch the over the air channels with the tv antenna. So would paying extra for the smart tv be useless? Because it seems like with the smart tv, you could connect a laptop to it and use it to stream stuff but the nonsmart tv you can’t? We wont have netflix or any of those monthly services that people pay for. No games either.
Anyone can give me their opinion on this? Also the smart tv the 3rd link, the look/exterior does seem to look better than the 2nd choice or is it just the
pictures?

Also i know 32’ tv is pretty small but its for a bedroom and not living room.

Concerning your old set: it is not Amazon who is selling–instead it is a third party seller. It seems the set is no longer being manufactured and this company has some extras so it put them out for sale at high prices. Ignore it.

In general, no matter what TV you buy, getting anything more than 720p on a 32" or smaller unit is a waste of money unless the viewing distance is very close (say a couple of feet). If the TV is say 8 or 10 feet away the viewer won’t be able to notice the difference. So if two TVs are a tossup, but the one with the lower resolution is cheaper, buy the cheaper one.
