38 Biblical Prophecies Fulfilled In Our Generation

Here is a great reminder to Christians that their redempbion is near and proof to non-Christians that the Bbble is the infallible Word of God. The following information is taken from Grant Jeffery’s book “Prince of Darkness”, published in 1994.

What are the odds that these 38 prophecies (to be listed) occurred by chance?

~There are 40 years to a generation.

~There are 50 generations from Christ until today.

Therefore, the odds are 1 in 50 of any of these prophecies occurring in our lifetime.

~The odds of 1 event = 1 chance in 50=1 in 50
~The odds of 2 events = 50 x 50 = 1 in 2500
~The odds of 3 events = 50 x 50 x 50 = 1 in 125000
~The odds of 4 events = 50 x 50 x 50 x 50 = 1 in 6.25 million
~The odds of 5 events = 50 x 50 x 50 x 50 x 50 = 1 in 312.5 million
~The odds of 6 events = 50 x 50 x 50 x 50 x 50 x 50 = 1 in 15.6 billion.

You can readily see that even at 6 events, the odds are staggering! Imagine what the odds of 38 events (1 x 50 to the 38th power) would look like!

Below is the list of each prophecy that was realized and the corresponding scripture reference. Decide for yourself if the Bible is the true Word of God or not.

Victoria, you should know that you’ve been called home and this attack has been called off.

LOL! “Men’s hearts filling with fear” If that’s the best God can do as a prophecy, I’m applying for the job.

How about the ones that were just plain wrong, like that Tyre would never be rebuilt (it was) and that Damascus would be destroyed soon (it is actually the longest surviving city from Biblical times)

Time is relative when it comes to God. Everyone knows that (or at least should). And what attack are we talking about. I just posted something that I thought you would find interesting. (Besides, it also said prophecies that are fulfilled in THIS generation.) I’m not attacking anyone. I’m just stating my beliefs. (Didn’t some of you do that regarding evolution on the LBBB? I think so.)

God bless!

There is a reason for everything, no matter what happens to us.

I agree with you Victoria Rose! Are they afraid of our posts? What attack? I saw Biblical prophecy fulfilled. Nothing attacking here.

You missed one:

Hey, Left Behinders: You should stop. Really. I knew you were full of some strange mojo before. But now, with this mathematical nonsense, I’m certain you’re doing more harm than good. Oh, by the way, I’m a Spirit filled, Pentecostal Christian.

Stupid UBB code.

  1. The rebirth of Israel; the “fig tree” buds
    ~Matthew 24:32-34

(on a stretch)

2)The Hebrew language recovered
~Zephaniah 3:9

I’ll give you that

3)The Ethiopian Jews return to Israel
~Zephaniah 3:10

Distortion of the text

4)the exiles returning to Israel
~Ezekiel 37:21

This is 50 years old–it did not happen in my lifetime or yours

5)Israel becomes fertile and blossoms
~Isaiah 27:6

This is 50 years old–it did not happen in my lifetime or yours
6)Israel’s rainfall increases dramatically
~Joel 2:23

And you have actual evidence of more rainfall?

7)The Roman Empire will revive
~Daniel 2:40-44

No Roman empire in this century; Mussolini has been dead a long time.

8)Russia rises as a military power
~Ezekiel 38:1-12

Ezekiel was not describing Russia and no honest biblical scholar thinks he was.

9)The city of Babylon is rebuilt
~Isaiah 13:1,6,19

Babylon has been “rebuilt” for a long time. Not an occurrence in “this” generation.

10)Iraq is defeated in the Gulf War
~Jeremiah 50:1,9; 51:27

Iraq is not mentioned in these texts, the Empire of Babylon is not the same as Hussein’s overwrought imagination. (Besides, Iraq was overwhelmed from the South and the prophecy demands a northern invader. Wrong prophecy.)

11)Preparations for a One World Government
~Daniel 7:14; Revelation 13:7

Bosh. No one living today will see a “one world governement” even if that is what the prophecy really meant. Heck, Europe can’t even unite and they sort of want to.

12)Financial systems depending on numbers, not cash
~Revelation 13:17,18

False statement. Rev says that no one can buy or sell without the “mark.” There is nothing about “depending on numbers, not cash.”

13)Intra-dermal computer ID chips
~Revelation 13:15-18

I’ll give you this one for giggles, but it is simply not true.

14)A global arms race
~Matthew 24:6,7; Joel 3:9

These do not describe a “global arms race” but the general way that humanity has lived throughout history. No points here.

15)Worldwide television communications
~Revelation 11:9,10

This makes no sense. None. There is no remote chance that rejoicing over the death of prophets is equal to global TV.

16)Israel surrounded by enemy Arab nations
~Psalms 83:4-8

I’ll give you this one, although there is no mention of Arabs in the Psalm.

17)Worldwide famine destroying
~Revelation 6:5,6; Matthew 24:7

We have more food and fewer famines now than at any time in history.

19)Increasing earthquakes in strange places
~Revelation 6:12-15

Better machines to record earthquakes does not equal more earthquakes.

20)An increase in false messiahs
~Matthew 24:4,5

Jerry Falwell? Pat Robertson? The LaHaye’s? It still doesn’t work. You think there are more false messiahs now because you know too little history to know how many false messiah’s we’ve had.

21)Explosion of false prophets and heresies
~Matthew 24:24

See 20.

22)The rise of anti-Semitism worldwide
~Matthew 24:9,10

This verse does not address anti-semitism in any way and it is a general statement of the antipathy toward god-fearing people, not a prophecy of the end times.

23)Men’s hearts failing them for fear
~Luke 21:26

Men’s hearts have always failed them.

24)Asia developing 200 million-man army
~Revelation 9:14-16

Umm. The Chinese and Indians and Russians have all had huge armies before this. (And none of their “cavalry” wear blue and yellow uniforms, so this can’t be the right prophecy for the present.)

25)The Euphrates River can be dried up
~Revelation 16:12-14

It’s still flowing.

26)A military highway across Asia
~Revelation 9:14,15; 16:12-14

The Trans-Siberian Railway? Sorry, this doesn’t work.

27)Society accepts perversion and evil as normal
~2 Timothy 3:1-3; Revelation 9:20,21

And this is different from any other epoch how?

28)Ecological devestation of the planet
~Revelation 11:18

This is really weak.

29)Doomsday weapons threaten earth
~Matthew 24:21,22; Joel 2:3

No special weapons are predicted in these verses.

30)Plans to rebuild the temple
~Isaiah 2:2,3; Micah 4:1,2

There are no official plans to rebuild the temple and these verses are so vague as to be meaningless in that context.

31)Levites and priests train for temple service
~Ezekiel 43:14,15
And you can show a) where any Levites are training and b) how this verse of Ezekiel has any bearing on such training?

32)Temple vessels are prepared
~Ezekiel 43:14-19

see 31

33)Preparations for the sacrifice of the red heifer
~Numbers 19; Ezekiel 36:25

And what red heifer is someone preparing to sacrifice?

34)Jerusalem built in 9 specific directions
~Jeremiah 31:38-40

Jerusalem is growing in a hodge-podge of overpopulation with little specific planning.

35)Massive increases in wealth and possessions
~James 5:3

I’ll give you this although the stretch to make this an end-times prophecy is staggering.

36)Formation of worldwide apostate church
~Revelation 17

There is no world-wide church, much less an apostate one.

37)Israel dwelling without walls or gates
~Ezekiel 38:11

Which are irrelevant in the days of tanks and bombs–but they do have a fierce military.

38)the powers of uranium shaken; elements melt
~Luke 21:26; 2 Peter 3:10-12

Uranium is a power of the earth, not of the heaven.

So out of 38 “true predictions” I can find only five events that are “occurring” in out lifetime with the rest of your list being horrible distortions of Scripture, complete misunderstandings of Scripture, things that have not actually occurred and a few outright falsehoods.

Of the five “true” things, two are simply restatements of each other and the others are the sort of thing that Jean Dixon could predict.

Sorry. You have only proven that you can quote people who will distort any statement or reality in order to try to make the Bible say what they want it to say.

You have proven no truth.

“Bbble”? That’s the sound you make when you strum your finger up-and-down rapidly over your mouth while making a “B” sound, like a baby does, right?

Or is that the way you normally talk?

tomndebb - Could you please quote me sources so that I can look up your so-called distortions? I’d like to know where you get your information. Two things that I can tell you about off the top of my head: The Euphrates River drying up and of the red heifer. I believe what was stated is the the Euphrates River CAN be dried up. It doesn’t say that it is. The red heifer - For the first time in CENTURIES a red heifer has been born in Israel. This was a couple of years ago. The red heifer is going to be used in the temple when the animal sacrifices begin again. (If I read the article right. It’s been a while since I read it, so please forgive me on my vague memory there. It’s been a couple of years.)

And tracer: Have you ever heard of a typographical error? I type really fast, and I usually catch my errors as I type them. However, sometimes I do miss some here and there. The baby reference was completely out of line. Unless, of course, you’re referring to yourself. Anyway, I didn’t catch that typo when I was typing. Please forgive me for that. It must be a MAJOR crime to have a typo. Although, I do believe I saw some in some of your posts.

God bless and Happy New Year!

There is a reason for everything, no matter what happens to us.

An excellent dissection Tom. To which I would only add that Victoria Rose, rapture, et. al. not only misconstrue nearly all of the scripture they do quote, they ignore the passages that don’t support their beliefs. To whit:

Matthew 24:34

By VR’s own reckoning, this was 49 generations ago; no doubt she has some theological contortionism to explain it, but it does little to convince even those with the most open minds.

And this:

Matthew 24:36

Therefore, if VR says it will happen soon, she is mistaken; or else she is assuming Divinity that is not apparent in her posts.

It is obvious that she is has been seriously deluded by the LaHayes’. If there is any truth in the Bible, it is that they and their followers are the false prophets and hypocrites Jesus warned about.

Their sad little troop is just making it up as they go along, and will no doubt interpret our discourse of their views as “persecution” which vindicates their delusion.

No matter; I will continue to seek the truth, and along the way, be rewarded with wisdom (a far more rare and valuable commodity).

And one other thing that I forgot to mention in my last post, many times, when people don’t want to face the truth about something, they try to put the truth-teller down. (For whoever stated they took “6” credits of psych in college, they should be able to verify this. Besides, some of the stupidest people I know supposedly have a high education. The problem lies in the fact that they let it go to their head. Oops! Another psychological reference there! Sorry!)

It seems to me that, knowing that I’m telling the truth, and studying the scriptures, the statements that I posted are true to the T, and you don’t like it.

Psychology is psychology!

God bless!

Victoria Rose.

There is a reason for everything, no matter what happens to us.

To TT: I study the scriptures in depth. Also, when I study the scriptures, I pray to Jesus and ask Him to show me what is being taught. That’s wisdom. Enough said. I need to get to bed. I’m exhausted from reading gibberish today from uninformed people. (I’m not making any reference to you guys) One of these days, I’ll debate a topic with you and give you a run for you money. (But it has to be BEFORE Jan. 19 because that’s when classes start.)

Good night and God bless!

Victoria Rose.

Pardon me if I don’t hold my breath.

Sorry Victoria, there is a mosque standing right in the middle of the temple right now. If there were a bunch of religious zealots such as yourself who decided that this mosque was getting in the way of things, I suppose it would be possible to do God’s dirty work for him by blowing the fragile structure up. Unfortunately, the Jews would have to yet again take up the task of rebuilding their temple. I can think of plenty of reasons why the Jews could not do this. First and foremost, there are quite a few Islamic countries surrounding Israel that would be none to happy to find the Jews rebuilding their temple right after their holiest mosque was destroyed. Israel has a strong army, but in the end, it is hard for a country with a population smaller than Los Angeles to withstand a major offensive from their neighbors for more than a few months. Additionally, how many Jews do you know that are more than eager to fulfill Christian prophecies? You want to build the temple for them? Grab a trowel, some mortar, and bricks. It is going to take a while. Sorry, not in this generation.

You know, doing what is right is easy. The problem is knowing what is right.

–Lyndon B. Johnson

No. The nubers you have decided upon have absolutely no bearing on the probability of any of these prophecies coming true in our lifetime. Your ignorance of statistics is so profound that it truly amazes me that you would attempt a statistical argument.

If you are correct about the Euphrates, then that prediction acually came true about 300 years before Christ was born when larg-scale irrigation was developed in the Mesopotamian River Valley.

Well, that is really Tom’s question to answer, but here’s a hint. Try reading the Bible verses that you cited.

It seems to me that most of them have already been refuted as either not being accuracte or not having been fulfilled in “our generation”. And you lack either the honesty or the self-confidence to face it.

Perhaps, but I would suggest at least acquainting yourself with basic probability theory before you attempt another statistical “proof”.
