4/10/2007--It's "House"! On A Plane!

I don’t think House really planned to go anywhere. I don’t think any of those wacky vacation plans sounded like anything he’d seriously want to do. I think he’d intended to sit alone in his apartment the whole time, and just make everyone think he was on a mountaintop somewhere so they’d leave him alone. But I guess that’s neither here nor there.

Believe it or not, this was my first exposure to House. EtherealFreakOfPinkness started watching it recently, and talked me into DVRing an ep to try. I really enjoyed it.

I missed the last few minutes. What happened with Cameron and Chase? Did they finally end this almost-as-annoying-as-Tritter-but-not-quite storyline?

Chase told Cameron that he wanted more out of the relationship than just sex. She was rather brutal, making it clear that she was only after the body jollies.

I don’t know. That hooker ended up becoming a hospital administrator.

I’ve noticed a weird phenomena with myself and House. Whatever disease or toxin I randomly run across during the week always seems to end up on House. Last Saturday I picked up our plant & animal toxins book and was just randomly reading stuff. I read about Ciguatera, so as soon as House asked about the fish I knew his theory was going to be Ciguatera.
One other note, I’m glad I wasn’t eating dinner when I watched that episode or it would have been monkey see, monkey vomit for me as well.

No kidding! That was the throw-upiest episode ever!

“He was a large man.” I like Jenny O’Hara.

I don’t like Cameron at all; I find her very irritating in general. Still, I can’t fault her for how she broke up with Chase. She waseron was harsh, but that was probably what was needed. I wonder, though, now that they’ve broken up, will everyone be pissed at Chase, thinking he threw her over?

Cuddy was a bit of a doofas in this ep.

Chase/Cameron - bet they start arguing over everything… that should make Foreman happy.

Remember the good old days, when people would throw up off-camera, and you’d just hear retching noises? Then they’d stagger back into frame looking pale. That was realistic enough for me.

Yeah, and frankly I don’t think staged vomiting looks real. It looks just like what it is, something being expelled that has been stored in the mouth.

It was the pukiest, spewist,
Upchucking gooist
Retchiest, barfiest,
Projecticle snarfiest
Eeeeep-i-sooooode of allllll!*

I’m sorry…I have no idea where that came from…

Yeah, especially since Chase and Cameron were still in the early doing it like rabbits stage.

Well, it was my impression of things from the ending of the last episode and prior to the actual airing of this episode.

The main point was that this airplane trip was not connected to the alleged vacation trip - as had been asked. Wether or not the time alluded to in the montage has actually passed or not, we know that this episode does indeed happen AFTER the prior episode, right?

Did everyone miss that they were returning from House making a “3 minute speech”? This is possibly one reason Cuddy does not want to date him again.

I like the scene in this episode that had Hugh Laurie sitting in the plane exactly as he had sat in the “Friends” episode. Nice touch.

House is totally in love with Cuddy. I don’t know what Cuddy thinks of House. He acts out his love for her like an 8 year old boy pulling pigtails. Which is right in character for him - he’s a genius in some ways, and completely delayed in others. I’ll give him full credit for one thing, though - he’s never boring.

(Cameron was not a bitch. She laid it out from day one, and Chase knew and agreed to the rules. He was the one who tried to change them, not her.)

Would someone mind summarizing* this episode for me (in spoilers is fine)? This emetophobe is not about to watch it!

*or pointing me to a nice, detailed summary – I can’t wait for the transcript!

Thanks!

Whatever happened to tough, smart Cuddy? The last two episodes have made her irrational and stupid. I dun like it. I do like her calling House on his total attraction to her, though. I’ve been seeing that since day 1, so it’s fun to have that out in the open.

I’ve also not been too crazy about Horny Cameron. She used to always be the “ethical” one, yet now she’s so enamored of Chase’s peen that she’s willing to jump him in a patient’s house? Ew.

Here is a summary, along with a medical review of the episode.

Agreed. I can see her doing the “friends with benefits” thing, but fooling around on the job is out of character for her.

Also, I can’t fault her for shutting Chase down, but she was a moron to not see that he wanted more by now. She’s supposed to be sensitive.

Loved the House-Cuddy action, especially his description of her ‘bouquet’ – “Hmm, citrus, with just a hint of…”
