*A four-year-old Chinese girl has been filmed driving along the motorway.
The child - who is called Jia Zheng by a man in the vehicle thought to be her father - is shown in control of the wheel as the footage is taken from inside the car, and the man later removes an implement from beneath her feet that looks to have been used to control the pedal*
I was watching a news story about how terrible Youtube is because parents are getting their kids to do all these dangerous things just to get cute videos and I was gearing up my RO then I remembered.
When I was 10 and my brother 6 there was a fire at a gas station in the next town over. They had a VW bug in one of the bays and while it wasn’t destroyed the paint was and the roof caved in when something fell on it during the blaze. My dad bought it from the insurance company for $50, cut the roof off and I started using to to transport bags of feed down to the stables and buckets of water. I had just got my horse a few weeks before and we hadn’t run water to the troughs yet so I had been carrying water 1/4 mile from the house.
About 6 months later Dad decided to sell the car since he was now comfortable enough with my driving that I could use his truck for feed and water had been installed in the pasture. When the first guy came to look at the car it wasn’t beside the house. Dad just whistled and the car seemed to drive itself up the lawn from the front of the pasture. When it stopped beside the house he opened the door and my brother and 3 of his friends all tumbled out and wandered away.
So I guess my point is parents have been doing dumb shit for years. The fact that they now video tape it just gives us a record of it

It sure is. I have a feeling this is crap. Snopes needs to analyze it.
You never see the back of the driver’s seat. It’s pushed all the way back, and the camera is carefully handled so that it doesn’t pan too far to the left. I think the pedal extender was for the dad, on who’s knees she is sitting, and who can’t reach the pedals with the seat all the way back. After parking, the camera conveniently pans to the front view of the road while there is activity in the driver’s seat, and the girl is suddenly much lower in the seat than she was before the camera panned. The headrest of the driver’s seat is removed. Dad easily slips over the back of the seat and lands in the back seat before the camera pans back to the suddenly shorter girl.
Thanks to the social/commun/marx-ists running our schools every day our kids continue to fall further and further behind the Chinese.
This makes sense, but how does the dad steer, like when the car goes around the other one?
The entire steering wheel is never visible. My bet is dad’s got a thumb on the wheel on the lower left, blocked from view by the girl’s body. I think she really is doing the majority of the steering - this was a well practiced video and not the first time she’s steered the car. But Dad’s got his feet on the pedals and a thumb on the wheel just in case.
The video’s fairly well done, and I’m sure they practiced a few times, with a fair amount of preparation (such as purchasing pedal extenders) to pull it off.
