43 monkeys escape from research facility in South Carolina because, why not?

I mean, at this point does it really matter? Bring on the monkey apocalypse.

What I want from each and every one of you is a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and doghouse in that area.

Escaped non-human primates are bad news. In 1987 a macaque monkey escaped from the Pittsburgh Zoo. It was sighted frequently, but evaded capture for 6 months! It was eventually caught 60 miles away in Ohio.

But the monkeys were only trying to warn us of the unintended consequences of the mind melding experiment horrors taking place inside the secret lab. I really like Brian Dennehy for the lead monkey catcher role and who is later revealed to have been reprogrammed by the super intelligent monkeys to help them all along. It ends with them all sanding boats on the beach.

Thirty years from now, South Carolina is going to have no birds but thousands of breeding monkeys running around the towns.

Are there 43 typewriters missing from some place?

That’s 3.58x the expected number of monkeys.

You could start a Pitt thread if you’d like to discuss it further.

It was a protest over Peanut the Squirrels murder.
Be afraid.

With words like ‘escaped’ & ‘fugitive’ in the OP’s story link, I want to know what crimes they committed? Petty theft & pickpocketing like I’ve seen on Youtube videos of feral monkey is Asia…or something much worse? DUI perhaps?

Dammit, I’m too late. Someone send me back in a time machine!

One fewer monkey and there could have been totally different jokes.

What’choo talkin’ 'bout, Williis?

How many have Ebola or Marburg?

Anybody else remember the Simpson’s episode about Jane Goodall’s monkey colony…with a special secret…?https://youtu.be/D5Fr4ygyrMg?t=70

And it would serve them right!

Herpes is a more realistic scare. Human herpes is fatal to simians. There are non-human primate herpes viruses fatal to us.
