49 year old teacher has a sexual relationship with 11 year old boy

As I’m scanning past the title of this thread, with Late Night with Conan O’Brien on the TV, he says something very appropriate…

“Now that’s just creepy and wierd…”

Teachers like this fuck it up for the rest of us. She and Mary Kay and all the other pervs of both genders are the reason why we are all paranoid about being alone with a kid even for a minute, lest such allegations be made. Grrrrrrr.

Also, the horn-dogginess of teenage boys aside (which is irrelevant, really; she’d still be in big trouble if he was 17 and her student), 11 year old boys are still basically chidlren. I’m sickened.

That would be a 17 year old boy’s dream, but 11 is weird beyond belief. Think about it 49 and 18 would be nobody’s business.

Yeah, I assumed this was an old bumped thread about her until I heard about it on the news.

I teach middle school. Do you have any idea how itty bitty most 11 year old boys are? They are CUTE - as in “awwwwwww, how CUTE!” They’re not drool worthy, not by a long shot.

And I just realized, our seventh grade teacher is in her late 40s, early 50s. The idea of her getting it on with a sixth grader. No, there’s just something seriously wrong with this lady. Yank her credentials, send her to jail, and get her some heavy duty counseling.

I think there’s been ENOUGH yanking going on already.

I don’t get why we call it an affair/relationship when it is a young boy and older woman and not just straight out call it what it is, molestation. She should rot in prison.

I agree, Thylacine. I don’t understand why this is referred to as a relationship, either.

Yuck.

Yes, this is molestation. Bloody unbelievable. Gah.

I don’t know how it works in the US, but down here in South America adults who have sex with minors get “royal treatment” when they reach prison, so much so, that a couple of times the inmate-to-be has commited suicide.

Although I can’t condone it, let me say I never shed too many a tear when the news comes that a prisoner was “welcomed” by 40 or 50 inmates.

Let’s see if feminists ask for equality.

I hope they have many thick brooms in prison.

…ah…49-year-ol women don’t have “sexual relationships” with 11-year-old boys, they RAPE.

I can’t believe rjung’s response. 11 year old boys fantasize about hitting home runs in the World Series, not sexing up Grandma. Maybe if he was 15 and she was 30, that would be a true comment (although you don’t know that), but it would still be illegal and amoral for her to have a relationship with a minor. By illegal and amoral I mean sick and wrong.

Anyway, it seems 11 year old girls are just as likely (maybe moreso) to have schoolgirl crushes on older men – movie stars, pop stars, even schoolteachers. Obviously, we don’t snort in amusement when the girl is raped by the older man because she had some nonsexual childish crush.

To speculate about what the child wanted is stupid and pointless. It’s sick and wrong to fuck a minor. Period.

There has been a few 49 wimmens that I, personally, have lusted after. And as a lad, I had me some fantasies about teachers who were very much older than me. I don’t know how they were, because some folks just don’t look their age.

Yes, it is sick and wrong for a person of that age to have sexual contact with someone so young. And yes, that young person may indeed be damaged in the long term by it. I’m there with you on those points.

But that doesn’t mean that the kid didn’t like it in the present. It’s just irrelevant.

In American penal systems, child molesters and sexual abusers tend to be considered among the lowest ranks of prisoners. They don’t get respect for their crimes, and are often on the outskirts of criminal society… (This is according to the criminological corrections class I took last fall, in case you’re wondering.)

Rodrigo: Let’s see if feminists ask for equality.

Feminists believe that people should be treated the same regardless of their gender. In the U.S. the Equal Rights Amendment would make it unConstitutional to treat an adult female any differently than an adult male in the same situation.

One of my colleagues was in her forties when it was discovered that she was having an on-going sexual relationship with one of her 17 year old students. There was a trial and she was not punished because he was “experienced.” I thought that was outrageous.

Nevertheless, she lost her career, as well she should have, and that was important to her.

However, Rodrigo, I am opposed to violence against anyone – in prison or not, male or female.

Is all our outrage based solely on the article linked in the OP?

Sorry, I’m not seeing any proof of wrongdoing there. Allegations, but not proof.

In a private counseling session she makes ambiguous comments that we aren’t privy to which spark an investigation that found nothing. Mayhap she was saying it felt good to have honest affection even if from a child, perhaps she wanted to make her husband jealous, the point is we don’t know what was said, just that she was found innocent.
She’s his teacher and becomes friends with the family. Maybe then the mom heard about the investigation and disregarded that Teach was found innocent. Mom is spazzing that her child might have been subjected to abuse, understandably, and starts asking the kid. He comes up with a “well, sorta, yeah she’s kissed me” answer to mom’s badgering, Mom then mis-interprets some text message and the authorities start another investigation. We didn’t get to see said text messages either, so how do we know?
Cops interview the boy, who’s probably worlds most uncomfortable human being at this point, and instruct him to call her with them listening in. He might have said “Mom wants to know if you’ve ever kissed me” and she could have replied “Just say no” because the ‘tap kiss’ referred to might be the same obligatory buss on the cheek you give your elderly aunts. They characterize her responses as instruction to ‘continue lying about their relationship’ but yet again, we don’t know if that’s true. Cops have never been known to be over-zealous, right?

The boy isn’t the accuser and states he wasn’t uncomfortable with the Teacher, the authorities again found no evidence of wrongdoing…I’m more likely to feel sorry for the woman who’s career and reputation have now been irreparably damaged for naught.

I have to admit that in high school, there was this Spanish teacher that I had that got me fired up (she was a horrible teacher though…and my logic won over and got me into a different class)…however…

I am a teacher now, at a university, and my students’ ages have ranged from 17 to 45 (I think she turned 46 during my class…I don’t remember)…but I could never imagine having a relationship with my students outside of the classroom. Even after they are no longer my students. Professional/ethical reasons aside, I just don’t quite “get it” you know? (and I’ve had some dead-sexy students in my time…a couple cheerleaders too. No further comment)

This is called pedophilia. Bad bad. Not sure why this has to be turned into an anti-feminist / ERA rant. Pedophilia is just plain bad and she will never be “cured” no matter what the punishment.

Younger men. Sure. 17 year old boy? Cute but that’s it. Young little 11 year old boy? No. The only desire I would have would be to feed him milk and cookies.

Eli, I for one, as an 11-year old boy, was already thinking about sex a lot, and I thought older women were attractive. There you go.

Is it still wrong and immoral? Yes.

Excuse the side rant here, but Autz, a 49 year old woman can get pregnant.
“The average age of menopause in American women is 51, with a range of 48-55.” http://www.ivillagehealth.com/experts/womens/qas/0,,242103_151265,00.html

Not to mention she can still transmit STDs which can permanently screw up this kid’s life at 11. Women can rape, molest, injure and kill, and who’s to say we don’t do those things just as much as men w/o it being reported or fully investigated? There’s a big flap about Eileen Wournos being the ‘first female serial killer’ in the States, but there was one in the early 1900’s in Minnesota, and a woman who killed several of her own children in the Northeast in the 50’s and 60’s, right up until she was caught. It’s possible Eileen was the first one executed, though. SIDE RANT OVER.
