I play the word game and have been making a list of good words to use against my chief opponent and fellow addict. Words with a lot of vowels tend to be harder to get than words with lots of consonants.
Is there a 5 letter word that contains four of the vowels or three vowels and Y?

Oh, I’m sorry, I guess I should have noted that there can’t be any repeats of letters.:smack:
Thanks for the quick responses!

There is a five-letter word which contains the vowel “e” twice.
Well, make up your mind. Can we repeat vowels or not?
[sub]I’m not even sure that’s a word…[/sub]
I hope none of these are used on Wheel of Fortune. They might give Vanna White a vowel obstruction.

Adieu.
Though it isn’t an English word, beggars can’t be choosers.
Ok, I’ll cheat… according to a computer search of ENABLE,
These words fit the no-repeated vowels criterion:
adieu, aiery, audio, auloi, aurei, ayrie, bayou, boyau, louie, miaou, noyau, ouija, ourie, pioye, ulyie, uraei, youse, yowie

OK, what’s ENABLE, and half of these words are totolly unknown to me. Definitions:
aiery
auloi
aurei
ayrie
boyau
noyau
ourie
pioye
ulyie
uraie
Also, youse ain’t no word.
Auloi (plural) are a type of ancient Greek musical instrument.
Boyau is a type of trench.
Noyau is an alcoholic drink flavored with the pits of a fruit.
Youse is certainly a word, as in “What youse talkin’ about?”
“Boyau” and “Noyau” defs from dictionary.com .
“Auloi” and “Youse” from my own extensive vocabulary. :b
The rest, I’m sure, can be found in OSW or OSPD (Official Scrabble Words, Official Scrabble Player’s Dictionary), but I’m lacking one at the moment.
