I liked the ending, but I thought the episode lacked a bit of pizzazz that I’d expected for the season ending. It felt more like a season opening episode in some ways. I wonder if Tony is going to second guess his decisions now that the reasons for his decisions may be “out of the way”.
I like your screen name - - reminds of the H P Lovecraft elder god’s pets: Shoggoths.
That said, I agree with your synopsis. However, I think there was plenty of pizzaz - - but very little closure. This opens up the series nicely for season 6. I can’t say much more w/o spoiling things for the West Coast.
Funny thing was that I thought of that solution as soon as Sack started being such a hard ass. I thought they were going to go a less obvious route. Oh well.
I liked hearing Uncle June sing, wish we would hear it more. However, I think he’s getting to the point of not being able to carry on a conversation much less sing.
When I first saw the figures running toward Sack & Tony, I thought it was Phil coming to whack Tony.
When Tony shot Tony B, was it just me or from the side view did it look like a chest shot? But the shot, obvious in the close up, caught him in the side of the head. I’ll try to catch a replay.
nope the shooting doesn’t make sense. He’s turned toward the door with his head turned towards Tony then it cuts to a long angle where he’s totally facing Tony then on the wood pile it looks like he was hit in the side of the head. There’s no way he would have flown like that (looks like he went by his upper chest jerking back not his head snapping back) with being hit on the side of his head.
If he was hit in the head with a shotgun, his head wouldn’t be attached to his body anymore. He was mostly likely hit in the chest, and all the blood on his head was from the entry wound from his body. If he was hit in the head, you would have seen some brains or something from an exit would.
I do not follow this series, and I only caught this by accident - saw the dead body while flipping channels, so stayed there for a little while - but THEY WERE IN MY HOMETOWN! THEY WERE IN MY HOMETOWN! MY HOMETOWN WAS ON TV FOR LIKE THE FIRST TIME EVER IN ITS HISTORY!!! And they really WERE in my hometown - the establishing shot was brief, but recognizable as the back of my hand. That really was a shot of Kinderhook, NY. Since I haven’t been home in a year, I squee’d for like ever. And emailed my mom about it.
There’s no 9A, though. There’s 9, and 9J, and 26A, but no 9A in Kinderhook.
So what exactly was the deal Tony and Sack made? (I was at somebody’s house for a ‘Soprano’s finale party,’ but was shocked at the lack of actual Soprano’s watching going on.)
And I was really hoping Phil was going to go after AJ, and maybe shoot his balls off or something.
It basically boiled down to “I’ll give you a little money but if Phil is still pissed you’ll have to make up the difference” Sack tried to get more out of Tony then admitted he had already taken steps to appease Phil and was just shaking Tony down for the rest.

he had holes in his jaw and cheek and his shirt on his chest was undamaged. It was clearly trying to make you think he had be shot in the side of the head. Just didn’t jibe with the way it was shown unfortunately.
Chest, head, whatever. Bottom line is, Buscemi’s out, except for possible dream sequences, and I don’t think they used him to the full effect they could have.
Absolutely loved the last sequence. For once, the feds actively went after someone, no dancing around.
Last shot was great, too. Was saying to Mr. Rilch, earlier in the episode, that this show is brilliantly written. You can’t predict the ending, or even the progression, of any significant scene.
When Tony knocked, and kept knocking, on the patio door, I was thinking, “Oh, don’t tell me nobody’s home, and he’s just gonna have to stand out there freezing and forlorn…That would so depress me!” But Carmella let him in, and clucked over his wet feet in a motherly way, so at least that’s all good.
