For my birthday, Mrs. Chuck gave me The Complete Cartoons of the New Yorker. The cartoons are on CD ROM, of course. Searchable. Just type in “Death Ray” and get the Charles Addams classic.
There’s also a hard copy book with all the classics.
My parents gave it to me for Christmas. I’ve looked through the book but I haven’t yet tried the CDs in my Mac because I don’t think I could stand the heartbreak if I can’t access them.
The Death Ray is nothing compared to the Jealousy Rays I am shooting in your direction.
Go look up the one by Thurber with the guy out having a ball on the dance floor while two ladies watch and gossip. One lady says to the other, “That’s So-and-So’s husband. He’s terribly unhappy.”
