The solution is to start a $6M advertising campaign, using adult programs including ‘Oprah.’ Barney, of course, had started out as a character that was marketed directly at tikes, initially using the PBS program as the only vehicle.
Oprah and Dr. Phil will have to do without me as a viewer for a while. But I’m cool – as long as Ht Entertainment doesn’t discover popup Internet ads.
hi all! even if they spent $6 BILLION dollars in ads,I still
couldnt watch Barney.Id much rather watch teletubbies
(and my stomach wont let me watch that!)
Having been exposed to both, I can only say you must be kidding.
Teletubbies is far stupider than Barney. If you’d ever sat down and watched a Barney video with your kids (assuming you have any), you’d discover that Barney does throw in goodies for the adults sometimes.
One example: on “Barney in Outer Space,” the kids’ Astronomy Club teacher is named Mrs. Kepler.
Barney’s voice is grating. And the less we see of Baby Bop, the better a given Barney video is. However, Teletubbies is unadulterated garbage.
Tell me honestly - have you ever watched Teletubbies? Or was that statement of yours empty hyperbole, without genuinely knowing what you’d be getting into?
