70s TV Trivia chain game

All correct so far, except:

Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnope!

This wasn’t the answer I was looking for, but it probably stands as much of a chance being correct. The scuttlebutt I’ve heard is that he was hell on the set. Hyperactive, mischievous, and occasionally dangerous. He used to pretend he was a dog, and once bit David Cassidy on the leg.

Yay, Saltire! Thanks - I never watched even a little of the Partridge Family and would never have gotten it. I don’t know the answer to the one remaining question, though…what’s special about that episode in industry terms.

I remember watching that episode when I was a kid. It was obvious that they were setting up the family for their own show. Maybe the first time in my life that I recognized the business behind what gets shown on TV. I don’t know the industry term. It’s sort of like trying to launch a spin off but not with established characters from the show.

In layman’s terms, that’s exactly it. In industry terms…

I’m going to go ahead and give you the missing answer from #2: It’s called a backdoor pilot.

Carry on with question 12. IMDB should help you figure out if Brian Forster was on The Brady Bunch.

  1. Brian Forster played “Elf” in Brady Bunch episode: “Eenie, Meenie, Mommy Daddy” (episode # 1.3) 10 October 1969

I know I said I wouldn’t look that up, but the thread was in danger of dropping off the front page. Unfortunately, knowing this leaves me unenlightened as to the rest of the questions, and I absolutely refuse to look at a Brady Bunch fan site. I’m a Partridge fan, dammit!

Me too. :stuck_out_tongue: That Keith is sooo dreamy!

Brian Forster played “Elf” on The Brady Bunch. Elf, Gracie? Does that sound like a normal kid’s name? In what manner would a kid be called Elf?

I was Danny’s age when the show was popular (well, a little older). Keith was too pretty for me - I wrote a script about a runaway that hides in their garage and joins the band and is discovered and given a multi-million dollar recording contract because she DIDN’T listen to Reuben Kincaid - guess who got to play her

I was really hoping this thread would be more popular. Or maybe it’s too hard, I don’t know. At any rate, in 24 hours I’m going to give it a good mercy killing. If you guys don’t answer all of the questions by then, I will.

You have been warned.

it was difficult to scroll up and down to find which questions were unanswered
perhaps if you were to ask a question (or maybe 2), then challenge the correct poster to ask a related question(s), and so forth.
it’d be far less confusing that way.

OK then, let’s see.

Here are the remaining questions:

  1. The replacement actor was in an episode of the series referenced in question #5. What character did that actor play?

  2. In that episode, a major character had a dilemma. What was it?

  3. In a much later season, the same character had a dilemma not unsimilar to that in #13. What was it?

  4. In the episode referenced in #14, something was coveted by most of the characters. What was it and who got it?

  5. Who played that part?

  6. On what other sitcom did he appear as a regular?

#12 was answered. Brian Forster, the Partridge’s Chris II, was in an episode of the Bradys, where he played a character named Elf. So the task now is to remember what happened in that episode. I can’t really give you much help on that, other than to profer some hints.

Forster didn’t play Elf. Forster played boy who played Elf. A role within a role, if you will.

Another hint: The episode focused on Cindy.

I’ll give another hint about questions 13-16. In question 13, Cindy did something. This “thing” was done in at least 4 other episodes. Once by Peter. Once by Jan. Once by Peter, Jan, and Marsha. And once by the whole Bunch.

I thought you said the show was innocent!

Phht. Greg and Marsha weren’t actual brothers and sisters, you know. What do you think went on up in that attic?

12) The replacement actor was in an episode of the series referenced in question #5. What character did that actor play?**

Answered.

  1. In that episode, a major character had a dilemma. What was it?

Carol was in the school play. She had to choose only one parent to bring, her mom or dad.

Back with more.

Is that right, by the way? This is haaaaaaard. But somehow more fun since I don’t know anythin g about it!

Er…I think I mean Cindy was n the play. Carol was the mom, right?

Correct.

Don’t you dare declare it dead, by the way. I’m not done yet. *kicks *tdn’s ** ass
