I’m 64. Watching the Parkland kids lately, I’ve realized I want to be like them when I grow up.

Wow, you have a unique and incredible perspective. You grew up watching black and white TVs with tubes, and now you are watching ultra high definition flat screens. There are a million other examples of how you’ve personally witnessed an incredible amount of change.
Throughout the history of man, I doubt any person has witnessed that kind of change in the span of one lifetime.

I’m only 60 but my wife and I are the same way. We’ve had a countdown clock running since our favorite amusement park closed in the fall and while the size of the toys has changed the spirit remains the same. And I hope 18 years from now its still like that for us.

That is a worthy goal. When and where I was a teenager, we were to be seen and not heard. Had we walked out of class to protest something (anything) we simply would not be allowed back in school until our parents showed up and promised to beat us to death if we didn’t straighten up and fly right. I honestly am very favorably impressed with those kids and I hope they keep the faith and vote the guilty out of office when they are able to vote. I hope now that I live long enough to see it happen.

My grandpa is gonna be 90 this year! And he is still a tough old bastard! A lucky bastard too. Bought his little house in Queens (NY) on a VA Loan for a pittance, way back in the 60s and lived there forever, then sold that same house a few years ago for $950,000 in CASH to a buyer from China. He and my grandma retired in luxury.
