I stepped out for a minute. Is that Yitsak Perlman?
Nice montage!!

[Brian Griffin] There’s a bird in your hair. [/BG]
[Keanu Reeves] Yeah, it’s a woodpecker. It just follows me around for some reason. [/KR]
Selma’s dress is like some weird optical illusion… doesn’t it look like she has a huge right breast and a much smaller left? The left looks somehow diminished and oppressed by that fancy flourish of a tit sling.
Huh. So there IS a live orchestra after all. The SWAT team of orchestras–taking cues faster than a babbling producer!
Yes, I did, just got back from CRASH at the Quad Cinema in Greenwich Village a few hours ago. BROKEBACK last Friday–OH WOW! ITZHAK PERLEMAN!!
--MUNICH on Tuesday, CAPOTE on Wednesday, GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK on Friday, CRASH today. Whew.
Itzhak and the orchestra are performing the best damn presentation in this or any other Oscar show.
Itzhak Perlman–what a treat!
What was it Carson said about the Oscars? “Two hours of quality entertainment…spread out over four hours of showtime?”
Itzhak Perlman was very good.
Best Score:
Gustavo Santoalalla for Brokeback Mountain
Definitely my pick.
I wish I was named Gustavo Santolalla. It sounds fun to say. “Halt, my friend. Make way for Gustavo Santolalla!”
Everyone who wins for **Brokeback Mountain ** should end their speech by saying, “Oh, and I’m not gay. Not that there’s anything wrong with that!”
I like the music from The Constant Gardener better, but ok.
It was good, but I liked MUNICH’s score better. Of course, movies and themes and actors are all rattling around my head right now.
More Itzhak! Itzhak at the Tonys, Itzhak at the Golden Globes, Itzhak at the Emmys…
…and less Lauren Bacall. Poor dear.
The quality of the ads during the Oscars is a bad sign. Are the ratings that low?
I’d still do her.
The announcer just said “coming up … a tribute to a film legend”.
I wonder who it is? Claudine Longet, Larry Storch ?
Okay, just a biiiiiit of shilling for seeing movies in theaters, huh?
Susan
Is it just me, or have there been a lot of not-so-subtle jabs at people for watching movies on DVDs and TV instead of going to the movie theater? Whatsisface from the Academy made his push, and Jake Gyllenhal just tried, too (although he had trouble keeping a straight face).
Anyone else thoroughly sick of the Brokeback Mountain theme yet?
Yes, my wife just said the same thing.
Funny. Most of these movies they’re showing I’ve only seen on a DVD. Or VHS. Except for the fairly recent ones like LotR and Titanic.
