I have returned from the future and I am here to tell you that it was a heartbreaker for the Canadian Olympic Mens Hockey team, but they played thier hearts out for Peyton.
Probably by whoever gets the closest final score predictions.
There are 3 viable combinations right now:
Colts vs. Saints (4 people)
Colts vs. Vikings (4 people)
Jets vs. Saints (2 people)
Nobody picked Jets vs. Vikings.
For CvS, 2 people picked the Saints to win and 2 the Colts. So I’m assuming it will come down to whose scores are closer to the final scores (or perhaps, who was closer in the spread).
The most competitive contest will be if the Colts beat the Vikings, since 3 people predicted that.
Never came down to it before – I think it’d break down this way:
- Picked both teams, got winner correct
- Picked both teams, got winner wrong
- Picked winner correctly
- Picked loser correctly
- Closest to total score
- Closest to predicted margin of victory
So it’s likely that this year will come down to #5 or #6.

With this year’s potential winners narrowed down to a pool of four players, here’s how things will shape up in 13 days time:
If the Colts win:
Total score of 69+, Hal Briston
Total score of 68-, drm
Saints Win:
Total score over 62, kenobi 65
Total score under 62, Justin_Bailey
If the Saints win and the total score is exactly 62, then it goes to tiebreaker #6: “Closest to predicted margin of victory”. Justin went with a 10-point margin, kenobi with a four-point margin. If the margin winds up being seven points, well, then I’m open to fair suggestions for tiebreakers #7, 8 and 9.

Good luck to Hal, kenobi and drm, but this contest is mine. The Saints are a team of destiny this year and I don’t think the Colts will put up more than 24.

Why total points? The more common issue is point spreads.
Hal Briston - Colts 37, Saints, 34 (3 point spread)
drm - Colts 35, Saints 31 (4 point spread)
kenobi 65 - Saints 35, Colts 31 (4 point spread)
Justin_Bailey - Saints 34, Colts 24 (10 point spread)
So the winners are:
Hal Briston - if the Colts win by 3 points or less
drm - if the Colts win by 4 points or more
kenobi 65 - if the Saints win by 6 points or less
Justin_Bailey - if the Saints win by 8 points or more
If the Saints win by 7 points, then the tie breaker can be whose point total was closest. Kenobi wins if it’s more than 62 points and Justin wins if it’s less than 62 points. (Exactly 62 points will be impossible with a 7 point victory as that would give a final score of Saints 34.5 to Colts 27.5.)
