80's Makeout Music

Ok, folks…Here’s the thread where you can post your favorite 80’s makeout music. List by artist, genre and title, if you care…otherwise, just the title is cool.

Keep it to the 80’s folks! That’s when I went to High School, and that’s what we’re here for - a trip down Nostalgia Lane!

Here are a few I remember:

Chicago - You’re the Inspiration
Bill Whithers - Just the Two of Us
Chris de Burgh - Lady in Red
Lionel Richie - Easy Like Sunday Morning
Anyone else??

I just died in your arms tonight-Can’t remember who sang it.
Honestly-Stryper
Patience-G&R
Every Rose Has it’s Thron-Poison
I Remember You-Skid Row

Babe - Styx
Open Arms - Journey
Amanda - Boston
Keep on Lovin’ You - REO Speedwagon

Those are off the top of my head. I’ll have to think of more.

Cutting Crew

The first song that comes to mind is:

Tempted by Squeeze

and after that:

I Need You Tonight by INXS

I lost my virginity to George Michael’s “Father Figure.” I think that qualifies.

Can’t forget Crazy for You by the British aristocrat from Detroit herself - Madonna. Gots me some fond memories of that song from HS days.

Also Cheap Trick’s The Flame was a good one too.

*“Faithfully” - Journey. Girls would just melt.

*“When I See You Smile” - Bad English. I remember the DJ playing this one at the high school dance right after “New Sensation” by INXS. People went from energetic dancing to lip locking like flipping a switch.

*“Missing You” - John Waite.

*“Is This Love?” - Whitesnake. By now, can you tell most of the girls I was making out with at the time were bigtime fans of acid-washed denim?

Ok, I’ll add a few more…
What I was DOING during these songs - well, it’s not polite to kiss and tell

REO Speedwagon - I can’t fight this feeling

Air Supply - Making Love out of Nothing at All

Air Supply - I’m all out of Love

Lionel Richie - Say You, Say Me
Geez - Lionel Richie and Air Supply were the kings of sappy love ballads, weren’t they??

I always refer to “I Just Died in Your Arms Tonight” as “The Impotence Song”. That is what it’s about, isn’t it?

My pick: Take My Breath Away–Berlin

Having attended both high school and college in the 80’s, I can hereby attest that I’ve made out to every single one of those songs. Sadly, I wouldn’t have chosen any of them.

Sting’s first solo album and anything by Prince (“God” a 12-inch remix was a great makeout song. You had to be a serious Prince fan to even be aware of its existence) would have been one of my choices. (Referring now to the college boyfriend.)

“Stone in Love” by Journey (whew. dating myself, like majorly  ) and
“Summer of '69” by Bryan Adams, were, oddly enough "our"songs. (Referring to the high school boyfriend.) He was also the master of discovering now-defunct but great-when-they-were-big bands, years after their demise. The Tubes come to mind. I think Crowded House also befell that fate.

I’d pick Tool, Radiohead or Portishead these days.

Cutting Crew

Ooops, that will teach me to read the entire thread.

Just Like Honey - Jesus & Mary Chain

I’ll Melt With You Modern English.

Space Age Love Song Flock of Seagulls.

And those songs are far from contemporaneous with my adolescence. :o

I have to second this. Absolutely positively beyond a shadow of a doubt…great makeout song.

Damn. Enigma’s MCMXC missed being in the 80’s by, of course, I year.

I opened this thread specifically to respond with this song!

Definitely Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game.”

You get it after hearing the first few notes, even before the man starts to sing.

Methinks this song is even too hot to be considered a mere “makeout” song. :stuck_out_tongue:

“Stripped” and “Personal Jesus” by Depeche Mode are auditory sex. “Enjoy the Silence” missed the 80s by 1 year dammit!

I’m really into Depeche Mode lately.
