9-11 was the day the Lil’wrekker was born. The actual day. Yes. I was watching the news in the hospital.
She was born by C-section. I was slightly alarmed the whole time. But what could I do? It was happening no matter what the world was doing.
This morning she announced this IS her birthday week. And all choices of all things are hers.
O—kay.
The thing is she’s such a prima Donna, if we don’t give in there will be hell to pay. So, yeah we will.
First choice: China buffet for lunch. Hey, I’m all about that. Ivy is happy. Hamza is happy. And I got eggrolls.
At least I know what she likes and I usually like it too.
Lord, I hope this don’t start a trend in the family.
Acccckkkkkk
Happy birth-week my sweet girlie.

Yet another click-bait title that requires the reader to open the thread to learn what it is about. I have corrected it. Next one will get a warning. You’ve been mod noted several times to stop doing this.
I guess we know what you were up to the previous Christmas…

So I’m unfamiliar with your family’s nicknames. Are Lil’wrekker and Ivy siblings, right? I was assuming that but not sure.
As for 9-11, I thought I was glancing at a DVD of ‘Die Hard’ in the quad that morning. The crowd of students said, “Of course not buddy! This is real you know.” I’m still embarrassed that I didn’t initially get that!
Ivy is my caretaker. Lives with us. Drives me around. Keeps me alive.
The Lil’wrekker is my kid.

Beckdawrek:
Ivy is my caretaker.
She sounds more like your caregiver.
She don’t care ..but she Cares.
Which ever. She is the best thing I could’ve had these last months.
I would’ve been dead many times had she not been on the job.
She’s family, now.

I was so clueless I thought the World Trade Center was in another country.

My wife’s birthday is 9/11. (Considerably before the events.)
None of her friends ever forget when it is. Nor do I, but I’m good at that.
Eldest daughter was born December 7, so this seems to run in the family.
Hey we have a 12/7 as well.
And twins born on a Mothers day Sunday.
It seems to be in our bunch.

My youngest was 2 weeks old on 9/11. Lots of changes in this little family.
I have to say, that evening; Still groggy from the OR and pain meds I was very afraid.
Afraid for me and my new baby and the whole freakin’ world.
I wondered what her life would be like.
We managed to get her grown and working successfully. A happy person. Maybe still learning to adult. Some.
But that’s ok. She has a soft place to land when/if she falls.
