just bought a good used 93 chevy lumina euro… well good except for the fact it has a radio that doesnt work. how do i get to the radio to removecheck the connections or replace it altogether? unfortuanalet i dont have the manual and cant seem to find the info online
Go to your very favorite car parts store & drop $15 on a Haynes or Chiltons manual for the car. It’ll tell you more than you need to know.
was kind of hoping to save the 15 bucks
I hear ya.
My experience with interior trim panels is that they are affixed by hidden clips. To get 'em off (so you can acess the radio mounts) you have to pry them off at the correct points. If you do it wrong, you break the clip or split the panel. Which can cost more than $15. Unless you glue the thing back on.
Of course, you could always find the manual at the store and thumb through it and get the basic idea of what you need to do…would that be cheating?
That’s why the manuals are shrink wrapped. It ain’t a library.
My local library has enough auto repair manuals to cover most cars on the road today. I use them quite frequently and at 10¢ a copy, I copy just the pages I need. And most Haynes and Chiltons manuals don’t cover radio removal, that can be found in Motor’s automotive electrical manuals.
As far as checking the radio, I would check the fuse first, that would be much easier than tearing out the radio.
