I’m trying to put an aftermarket stereo in a 1995 Toyota Celica. I bought a Haynes manual, but it appears that it has no info regarding the radio. It looks like I have to take part of the console out - can someone tell me how I can get the stock radio out?
I’ve never seen the radio on a Celica, but many radios have small holes (sometimes hidden by the trim) that you can stick an unfolded paperclip or something similar into the holes and release them. Then the radio simply slides out the front.
I think you have to take the entire center console out… is it an automatic or a manual? The plastic faceplates for each are attached differently.
If you get an install kit from Crutchfield they’ll usually include full instructions on how to get the old radio out and install the new one.
Otherwise, I’d recommend the factory service manual.
