a ? about yahrzeit candles

my question is : after the candle is done burning, and all that is left is the little glass jar, what is done with the glass jar?

                       thank you for your replies.

Throw it away. It’s just a jar.

Nothing that says that the candle has to come in a glass jar, BTW – most Yahrzeit candles available in Israel come in a (very clearly) disposable *aluminum *container.
Like **Alessan **said – it’s just a container. Once the candle has burned, throw it out.

In my family, we keep the jar from the seven-day candle that burns during the shiva period. For the subsequent yahrzeit candles, we just throw the jar out once the flame dies.

Just adding to the consensus, we used to throw ours out when I was a kid. I don’t light them as an adult but my parents are both still alive. I suppose I’d recycle it if I did one these days. It’s probably a little crass to use it as a juice glass.

It’s thrown out . . . and recycled.

We used to repurpose empty yahrzeit candle glasses as juice glasses. Now that we have enough juice glasses, we just recycle them.

My grandparents have tons of glasses that they use for drinking that originally came from yahrzeit candles.
