A 'BANNED' Question That CAN Be Asked

As longstanding members know (and newer ones should have picked up from the FAQ), the staff prefer that questions about why former members were banned be asked by PM or e-mail. There are good reasons for this policy.

Lately, however, I’ve seen an odd phenomenon: active, non-banned members such as Markxxx and diggleblop who have the telltale ‘BANNED’, in capital letters, for their status. I’m curious if there’s a glitch, a new policy, some sort of game, or what? (Obviously, if this leads to a question that ought to have been asked privately, please say so and lock this.)

Those are not “active, non-banned members.” They’re banned.

They are listed that way because they were banned. They are not active members.

Here’s Markxxx’s announcement.

Here’s diggleblop’s.

Both were banned for socking.

Those links are the same.

Fixed.

The OP might just be confused by recently-bumped zombies containing those two posters.

And on the run, I assume.

Or at Banned Camp.

My apologies – it appeared they were currently active. Thanks, Colibri and others.

Banned name.

Well, someone had to say it.

No, not really.
mmm

Why not?

This seems overly harsh and without provocation.

Reported.
