A vibrator. Duh.
In 1979, I graduated from college… after having taken a 3-year hiatus between my one right-after-high-school year of college and starting the second time. So just shaddup, you buncha whiny babies!!!
So, today… This morning was to be my very first VTC, and I was to do a presentation about my project. I wandered over a little early to get my powerpoint ready and I got a tutorial on how to control the VTC process. Eventually everyone wandered in and we began. I did my part, and it went fairly well. Go me.
Then the folks on the other end did their presentation. At this point, the guy who organized this thing - left. Just left. So we watched the other presentation, somewhat perplexed. Then they finished and asked if we had any questions or comments. Well, none of us had any idea why they presented what they did to us. And even tho I was the low person on the totem pole in the group, I wound up talking and wrapping up the conference. And that was that.
But for the life of me, I have no idea why the man who initiated the conference, who did all the communications about it, who should have been running it from our side, just disappeared!!! GAH!!! He’s now on The List.
Other than that, the day went well. I learned some stuff and I’ll be able to help one of my other engineers on his part of the project. So that’s good.
Oh, and I had to rat out a coworker who didn’t set the alarm when he left last night. I’m the first one in most mornings, and if I hadn’t said anything, they could have come down on me for not reporting the security violation. I felt really bad about it, but he screwed up by not following the procedure for locking up. He’s young - he’ll get over it. And maybe next time he’ll remember to set the alarm.
Must be stoopit week.
<sigh>
So it was sorta Monday again…
Oh yeah.
TWINKS, DON’T TELL HIM!
You’re mean. Meanieface. :wally
Now, now. Act your age, not your shoe size.
What if they’re the same? What then, huh? HUH?
In your case, they might be.
I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! Each and every one of you, get to a corner. A separate corner. Time out. Period. No discussion.
Sheesh, kids…
He started it!
::Sneaks in meekly, hoping to stay on FCM’s good side, not to mention not be hit by the flying food that can’t be far away, especially since Jahdra recently vacuumed::
One of the million reasons I bought my house in an older, non-development neighborhood is that there’s no HOA. It would drive me crazy. I have gardening friends who live in condos with HOAs where they give you a specific list of trees and shrubs that you are allowed to plant. For some reason, my friends aren’t happy there. I can understand not wanting trees or shrubs over a certain size or ones with certain characteristics, but to make a (very limited) list of what you’re allowed to plant just seems dumb (and BORING) to me. I would have to move.
I thought we pre-volunteered someone for the MMP next week. Might have been Sean, even. Seems like the next two were spoken for. Why isn’t swampy here to say whose turn it is? Isn’t he supposed to be keeping track?
I like jazz, but that festival seems like a bit much. Oh, and sorry, LiLi, but I’m a pacifist, so I can’t shoot you.
I was a junior in college in 1979. And no, I’m not old, either. I’ve got more than a year before the AARP invites me to join. Although I already got a senior citizen discount at Taco Bell the other day. We stopped by to get something to drink and they were just out of cash register tape. The first couple of seniors in our group had already paid when one of the employees remembered that senior citizens get a small drink free. I think they decided it was easier to just redefine all of us as seniors, even though several of us were quite a bit younger than 65. Hey, I got a free MEDIUM drink out of it, so I’m not complaining.
Guess I’ll go for a walk, since I had a rather large dinner… Gnocchi Sorrentino from Trader Joe’s with added shrimp, peas and asparagus. Tres yum. Tres filling.

How do you keep an MMPer busy?
Put him in a round room and have FCM send him to a corner.
Sleepy.
Night, night.

Hey!!! So was I!
No we’re not, in fact we can establish here and now that all the coolest of the Cool Kids were Class of '77.
sorry, no, I’m sure you meant Class of '76!
Hey, did you guys hear about the breakthrough new mathematical theory?
Yeah, they proved that 03 > 76 and 03 > 77. Go figure.
Well, I was Class of '78, so I’m close. I still have 4.5 years before I can start getting AARP discounts.
Booster Club meeting went well - we had a very large turnout for a summer meeting. Discussed some new stuff to sell (there is a company called Flashy Blinky Stuff, or something like that) and there were no complaints about the notice cards I sent out. The member we’ve been trying to get kicked out for 6 months has officially been kicked out. Our club president is just too nice a guy sometimes…
Then a group of us went to Longhorn. Yum. I am full and wish to sleep, which I will do soon if people will stop yelling and throwing food.
G’night, ya’ll. Catnip dreams.
I’m home. Jazz Fest would be considerably improved by the installation of a vodka tap under front cash. We had to throw someone out. He was behind the front counter using the phone. There aren’t enough  He was drunk, and an asshole. I hate people.
But now I’m home, and I’ll have a glass of wine, and play computer games until bedtime.
I hate people
I’m home! And nothing says home like a big pile of cat hornk on the computer table. I finally left Miss. at 5 today, and got in at 10. At least I can flush without fear. mom’s little dog has been in a funk since I left. tomorrow is pick up day for Maggie.
night all!
Uh, no, sorry…the coolest of the cool were the kids from the class of '82.
I can’t keep track of who’s supposed to do the MMP when. I just know I look forward to reading it on Monday morning.
Speaking of the MMP, it turns out I won’t be heading to California until NEXT weekend. Seems the hubby got his weeks of vacation messed up. What do-do. It’s no biggie; I’m on vacation for two weeks. Frankly, I’m kind of glad we’re going next week for the following reasons.
I don’t have to run around like some sort of maniac trying to get packed.
I can make sure my house is entirely spic and span before I go.
Well, hmmmm, seems I’m all out of stuff to say. I’m going to go finish watching TV, I think. Maybe I’ll crack open a book.
More mundanity to report.
Found my first tick last night, trying to have lunch in the back side of my knee. I’m sure it won’t be the last. I have yet to declare total war on the vermin running around Mayberry, but I have had a few skirmishes with the paper wasps. The score in that arena is Me:3 nests, wasps:1 (I think. I never saw what stung me). No, I won’t nuke from orbit just to be sure.
The VunderKind had a 4-way wisdom tooth extraction yesterday. At last report, he was still feeling fine, but the worst comes today and tomorrow. And the silly goose wanted to fly to Mayberry today, knowing he was going to have oral surgery yesterday. Fortunately, we couldn’t get tickets. Probably the only time where I’m glad he’s NOT coming…
VWife’s behemoth of a computer desk is finished, meaning that tonight’s project is reestablishment of innernets access. It’ll be about time.
