A Beary Special MMP

In 1979 I was a sophomore too.

In college.
:frowning:
I saw the Kinks at the Aragon, right after Van Halan covered trashed “You Really Got Me”. They played the song louder and harder than I’ve ever heard it, then davies just kind of mumbled something about THAT being rock and roll, none of that “California shite”. Place went nuts, it was a great time.

Crap. Forgot to code. Pretend that “covered” is scratched out, 'k?

Well, we still rock! I was singing “Shook Me All Night Long” really loud with the windows (of my MINIVAN) rolled down at lunch.

 Oh yeah. I’m cool.

How about not having been born yet?

At least I was born.

Actually, in '79 I was already taking my first plane trip to emigrate to the States. My adoptive parents said I ran around the plane and made friends with everybody. I was four, old enough to not be totally miserable I guess.

Huh. In '79 I was less than a year old for most of the year.
I feel so young.
No one has shot me yet.

Shaddup you young whippersnappers you! And get off my lawn too! :stuck_out_tongue:

I was a high school sophmore in 1979. I am NOT old. I REFUSE to be old. I’m only 42 dammit. I’m not even middle-aged. I won’t be middle-aged when I’m 50 either. I refuse to be.

I, too, was a high school senior in Fall’79. And I am 2 years and 2 months away from my AARP card. And while my bones and joints may be old, my mind and are are still in their 20s. So there! :stuck_out_tongue:

whistles innocently :stuck_out_tongue:

er… “mind and heart” :smack:

It’s yours for as long as you need it. Returning it this calendar year is good enough.

**Lissla ** - Sounds like Jazzfest would be a great time to take a vacation to anywhere else. We don’t want to hurt you, so can we just shoot spitballs at you instead? (Do they have those in Canada? Little wadded up pieces of paper that you shoot by blowing through a straw?) **Jahdra ** has to vaccuum in here before **FCM ** comes back anyway…

Aw shaddup alla youse!

[sub]My 40th high school reunion was last year. [/sub]

Yeah, it would have been nice to be on vacation, if I weren’t working it. A whole bunch of us are going out for drinks after tomorrow’s shift, to get drunk and punch people. Or something. A cathartic booze-and-deep-fried-food fest.

Yes, we have spitballs here.

I am playing Anarchy by KMFDM really loudly.

Yeppers. It is still stoopit week. I’m currently having an e-mail exchange with a fella who doesn’t understand why the electronic video file he ordered to put on a web site is so small and fuzzy when the DVD is much better. Um, because the file for the web site needs to be under ten mgs or you will be waiting till sun-up for the thing to load and, of course the DVD is better…it’s a 2 gig file! Jeesh! Actors!

I just ran out to my car…it was sprinkling, so I figured no big deal! DOWNPOUR! As soon as I walked 30 feet away from the building. But I am stubborn so I kept going and now I’m kind of soaked through. Brr! But hey, I get to go home early!

I was a senior in high school in '77. But I am NOT OLD! I remember The Who’s tour in 1982 - we didn’t go. My boyfriend and I stayed home to be alone - we sort of lived in a commune type place - we never had time alone. We should have gone to the concert…

I called my son Pete and wished him a happy birthday. He’s 22 today! I went through 22 hours of labor for him, and still ended up having a c-section. He better be damn grateful!

::vacuums carpet:: Sorry, sorry about the mess.

Can I give notice now? Aren’t my two weeks up? I wanna go home now. The Grand Prix starts tomorrow, right outside my window at work. My office is at the end of the long pointy end of the map. The streets are already blocked off and the idjits have been honking all day. Like that will make the lights turn green faster. As if they haven’t known about it since last year. Morons.

The office outing to Monterey is tomorrow and the nice co-worker is taking tomorrow off and I thought PITA cow-orker was going to the outing, but since I’m not going, she decided not to, either. I WAS looking forward to some peace and quiet tomorrow. I love not going to the outing - I have almost the entire office to myself, which is very cool. But no, PITA has to stay. I don’t go to the summer outing, because my company’s idea of entertainment is to eat meat, get drunk, cross-dress, strip and/or streak and occasionally, eat live insects (deliberately), which are all well and good if it’s your friends that you’re with, but I don’t eat meat and I don’t like my co-workers when they’re sober, much less drunk off their collective ass. And they don’t look good naked, either. Besides, the first one I went to, I got puked on, multiple times, on the bus. And then everyone started to hurl…I still can’t stand the smell of margaritas. They call the last bus home the Puke Train for a reason. And the planning committee can’t understand why they get less than 50% attendance to these fabulous events.

Oh, and I started kindergarten in '79.

Heh, that I can handle. Actually that makes it tons easier for me, since I’m not sure if I’ll have time to work on it before we go, since I have to pack, too.

The packing is stressing me out more than anything. I’ve already started. I hate packing.

Mika and Twinks - you guys are driving me nuts. What the hell did you mail her?

My, my, you are the nosyparker, aren’t you? You’ve learned well from the MMP, Grasshopper.
