I had to download a new version so I could order a book. The new version has a hand cursor with little vertical lines in it to make it look like a glove. My first thought on seeing it was “Mickey Mouse hand.” Why does it bother me so much that my cursor is now sometimes a Mickey Mouse hand? I mean, I don’t just find it annoying; I find it deeply disturbing.
Um, the “Mickey Mouse hand” is not AOL–it’s on your computer. Dum dum DUMMMMMMM!
Seriously, that hand’s been around for years; seems standard on Windows 3.1, 95, 98, etc. as the little mechanism icon used for turning frames, images, etc. You probably just never noticed it prior to AOL.
And besides, if it was from AOL, it’d be a big finger.

Check this out. It lets you change your cursor into the afformentioned finger!

I use a Mac, and the cursor was a hand previously. But it wasn’t a Mickey Mouse hand previously, with the little glove lines. Before it was an ungloved hand; the gloved hand only appeared with the new version of AOL and I hate it.
Hey burrito,
Thanks for posting that, I have been wanting to make an icon just like for a long time. You just saved me time and effort
