A BIG THANK YOU, a You Welcome and A BIG SCREW YOU

Hey Lissa,

I know what you mean. I’ve tried searching for the article, but I can’t find it anymore. I had it saved in my favorites folder (as I mentioned before) because it was such an outrageous story, but I guess the link has expired. Obviously, I don’t expect you to take my word for it, but I’ll look for it again. If I find it, I’ll certainly post it. Take it easy!

This will be my last post in here for at least a while. If anyone has anything else to say, you have the last word.

In big cities, esp. during rush hour, such an activity can cause something called gridlock which paralized the traffic for blocks, if this hits a highway exit ramp the highway can very easily come to a stop as well.

This was a minor point however, more to point out the irrosponsibility of the protestors. The bigger issue (as I see it) is the possible use of the media to effect the troops on both sides. Also remember that Sadam is/was fighting a defensive war, his goal (victory condition) is to repel the invaders. If you like it or not your activities are assisting him in his goal.

Died for oil and money, hmmm… The US economy is dependant on oil. It’s a tough call, but only looking on the US oil side you have an economy in which very few are truly poor (most people who are poor have name brand sneakers, TV’s, cars, ect. - Though I know there are some actual poor in the US, but nowhere the number reported). You stop the oil you will colapse the economy and millions will suffer. This is a cause that many beleive is worth fighting and dieing for.

Point taken. I still think the initial reason to shoot the horse (reduce the chance of future WMD attacks, cheap oil - though I don’t think this is a reason) is moral.

That was refering to the term quagmire that was used to discourage the war effort. Relating this war to Veitnam. We were warned that this would be a quagmire. A quagmire beign the absoulte worst type of war you can go into with heavy losses and nothing to show for it. I was saying that if this is a quagmire then that’s pretty darn good, quagmires are good and we want and need them when we go to war, just playing on the term.

Do I honestly beleive we should take ont he world - No

Do I believe we shold take on Syria - Not until Iraq is well on it’s way to becomming a gov’t for, by& of the people.

I have done some looking into the euro issue, while it would be of questionable effect on the US eccomony the issue can’t be rulled out. If the US interest is greater then the common good (world - US) then it is in self interest that this war is fought, If the (world - US) interest is greater then I see it an a moral obligation (as long as the outcome is overall good).

In a moral obligation I would say that no UN anything is needed, in a case of self interest the importants of support of others within a framework of law comes into play (the UN - at least for now).

There are other issues such as civil disobedance that a gov’t (US) can do when the rulling authority (UN) is just plain in the wrong that have to be considered.

Ending this on a moronic note, just as it started:

Screwing goes to:

Russia, France and Germany - for not supporting us.

Protestors who’s protests could be used to bloster Sadam’s troops, hurt our troops.

UN - for having no balls

Congressmen who opposed the war but now want to help

Thanks all
and
Good Night

Yeah, 'cause God knows Iraqi communications are so good Saddam could take a moment each day to keep the troops informed about what US protestors were saying. And lord knows, the mere fact that there * were * protests is enough to keep the Iraqi troops fighting loyally.

How many US troops do you think said, “Gee, Colonel, those protests just have me so * bummed * I don’t think I can fight today.”

Ah, the awesome, witchy power of protesors! They can make the enemy stronger, and turn our troops into wimpy sitting ducks by their very existance!

Because they stood up to us, they have no balls? For refusing to be our rubber stamp? My mama used to tell me it takes more courage to say “no” than to go along with the rest of the crowd.

Can you name one service person who was killed or injured in Iraq because of a war protest at home? Can you?

Look, our country is run by congress and the whitehouse, (and the supreme court). I know that you and your ilk want to disregard anyone with a littl D after their names but you can’t do that and remain an American. So either relent and say that the ENTRIE congress gets a say in post-war Iraq or admit that you think the constituion is crap you fucking pig.
