Now I actually read that you included me in this bullshit. Look, I’ve been giving twicks a pass forever. But she is the one most reviled moderator everywhere I look where you can actually talk about that subject. But I’ve been trying to assume the best–even though she is the only mod who has had to have Ed come in and save her hide when she tried the cunt thing.
That she came in and laughed in my thread where I was trying to help people out with a feature I didn’t know we had, and the mods without warning took it as a sign to as yet another freedom to senselessly take away was just the last straw.
I can’t pit her for her crap because she always does it as a moderator. I’ll admit that I was a bit unreasonable. But I’d been giving her pass after pass.
Plus, my withdrawal symptoms are horrible again, for all that y’all care. You alternate from horribly anxious to normal to horribly depressed in less than 24 hours, with no doctor or therapist being able to help you because you’re agoraphobic and stuck at home, and every drug they want to give you has been shown to make things worse, and you try to not have a little bit of a short fuse.

As I pointed out before, this message board pretty much is my life right now. It had gotten better, but now that my withdrawal symptoms are bad enough that I can’t even watch movies, and I’m stuck at home all the time–THIS IS ALL I HAVE to keep me from going insane.

BigT, I’m sorry about your troubles, but I think your efforts would be better spent trying to enjoy this board for what it actually is, rather than taking it so seriously. Try to shrug some of this stuff off.
Funny, because, unless it took you 15 minutes or so to make that response, you could clearly see I wasn’t even talking about myself.
Even if I didn’t spend an inordinate amount of time here, I would still appreciate those people who go to bat for all of us when the mods mess up. Do they overdo it a lot? Sure. But I’m not going to fault them for that on a board that encourages people to take the piss out of each other.
And, crud, in composing and recomposing this, I realize I overdid it horribly in that previous post. I doubt she’ll forgive me, but I’ll apologize to twickster for being so mean back there. I may not think she is anywhere near the best mod here, but she does not deserve to be beat up on in a thread just because someone else actually pitted me. What I said here was exactly what I was trying not to say.

I thank the mods for making this place possible. Obviously there’s some emotional reward for them in volunteering their time, but that doesn’t mean it’s fun.
The chronic complainers appear to think there’s an endless supply to SDMB members lined up to prove they could moderate more perfectly than the current ones.
Maybe there is, but my guess is that the supply of sane, bright, patient, willing people with extra time on their hands is a limited resource.
I’m not a volunteering type, but occasionally I envision being a moderator. That fantasy lasts only until I remember the ATMB ButtHurt Brigade, and then I sigh, “The horror… the horror.”

I have to admit to some disappointment that I’ll never be able to compete in the “Most Pitted Mod” contests of yore. However, rules is rules, and the current rules state that discussion of moderation actions takes place in ATMB. I appreciate that the OP is not interested in discussing moderation actions, but it seems to me that, in order for the posters named in the OP to properly defend themselves, they would necessarily have to refer to moderator actions that they think justify their complaints. As such, I’m closing this thread, as I don’t think it is possible for it remain within the rules for this forum.
Anyone who disagrees with me knows where to stick their complaints.
