Since y’all did so well with choosing a biography last year, I’m looking for more help this year.
This is my tentative list as it stands right now (including As Nature Made Him, which was one of the suggestions from last year’s ask The Dope for help thread), but I want to substitute something in the vein of historical fiction for one of the overtly Canadian novels (either The Birth House or Three Day Road).
We’ve already done the first of the Josephine B. books. I had hoped to do Depths of Glory by Irving Stone, but it has lousy library availability in Toronto.
Unlike my biography request, I’m not specifically looking for Canadian subjects. Perhaps something that’s not Kings and Queens of England related, though – as they seem to be the cliche of historical fiction.
2-400 pages, and definitely less than 500.
