A Chronicly Early MMP

Happy Birthday,** Metal Mouse!!**

After parting ways with the navy in 1970 I attended college in northern California for a couple of years, so naturally I had some experience with the wacky tobaccy. For me it was just a social thing. If someone offered, I’d take a hit, but I never cared enough to actually purchase my own. I could get just as good a buzz from beer, which was legal, and beer didn’t make me stupid for 3-4 days afterwards. No, that’s not just an opinion. I discovered that I had serious difficulty with my homework assignments for 3 or 4 days after smoking. Especially calculus.
I don’t really understand all the passion proponents express for it, although, as my arthritis progresses I’ m beginning to get interested in that CBD oil. I’ll talk to my doc about that if I ever see him again.

We’re still [del]hiding out[/del] social distancing at the ‘little house’, where the biggest excitement is walking down the street to the store to buy bread. Tomorrow we’re driving back to the Valley for ‘reasons’, but we’ll be back here prolly next Monday or so.

Have a good week!

Moooooooom, google how to make yeast starter for bread. Some take a while, while some are as simple as some flour and a can of beer.

nellie, the bags in her carrel were on the belt, handled by her and/or the bagger and whoever loaded the carrel. I can totally see why they don’t want to handle bags that they have no idea how clean they are. Shoot, I’ve seen some pretty nasty looking ones at Aldi that folks were putting their groceries in. As I said, I have no issue bagging my own, I just need to be aware of the rules beforehand.

Took Nelson halfway up to the lake on the greenway today. When we got home, I did the MS thing, then went out to the patio to read with a warm dog on my lap. It’s a good thing a lot of books are pretty low cost for either the kindle edition (metal mouse, check your Prime membership for the free books for Kindle) or paperbacks.

Johnny L.A., my income was over the limit for the full $1200.

Like Howdy Y’all! We spiffed da cave then went into sloth mode. Sup was leftovers which are now all gone. Guess that means actual cookin’ tomorrow. Or maybe takeout. some Sonny’s bbq would be nice. I may have to start a campaign.

Our esteemed Goobenor (AKA His Dumbassness) has said that gyms, fitness centers, bowling alleys, tattoo parlors, barbershops, cosmetologists, hair designers, nail salons, estheticians, massage therapists and schools for those trades can re-open Firday provided they follow social distancing and sanitation measures like essential businesses that are open have been doin’. Restaurants and movie theaters can re-open next Moanday. However, bars, night clubs, amusement parks, live-performance venues cannot re-open just yet. If y’all hear a report that everybody in Jawja died, this is why.

No sign of our stimulus payment yet. Of course it will go into hubs bank account so I am at his mercy to get my half. I will get it though. I don’t think we went over the adjusted amount. Maybe we did. I should really pay more attention to stuff like that.

I have used the wacky tobacy back in the day. No desire to now. I guess I outgrew that. Plus i work for the feds and it is still federally illegal. It is legal in FL for medical use.

I guess I shall go to bed soon.

I’m a bit under the weather. There’s absolutely no chance I have the corona virus. I’m hoping I’m just tired.
As usual, not sleeping well. So that’s probably it.
I didn’t walk this evening. I was lazy.
DIL found some nice tomatoes so we had BLTs for supper.

~VOW, I’m waiting on my bread machine to come. I ordered yeast as well. I can get bread flour. DIL has brought 3 bags, so far. I tell her to get it everytime she sees it. Oh, and btw, I got a thing of ‘Wondra’ that stuff is really a wonder. I like it.

Swampy I don’t know about your governor. He chose the most intimate occupations to open first. He is dumb.

hippy, I tried some of your BBQ rub on popcorn tonight. Yum!

My vacuum cleaner died mid-vacuuming this afternoon. It had been struggling for a couple of weeks, but I didn’t expect the motor to just die halfway through. Looks like I’ll have to search online for one. The brownie for supper was nice.

Evening all. Mickey the D’s took care of the evening meal, their staff is wearing gloves and have masks, so they are being responsible. Got a B-Day call from my brother and a card from the neighbors, which were nice. Brother still thinks there is not much too COVID-19 outside of New York and doesn’t trust the epidemiologists, but I kept the call civil and didn’t call him a bleedin’ idjit…

Swampy, I agree with butters, places will be opening but how do tattoo parlors, barbershops, cosmetologists, nail salons, and massage therapists do their jobs AND maintain social distancing. Guess he needed a haircut and massage for his TV appearances. Idjit.

Becks, take care.

Wet one, same for me on the stimulus, got just about the same as you. And my last digits were $3.55…love to see the computer factors they used…

nellie, hugs for your sister. Been there.

Masks that were supposed to arrive today didn’t. Will contact Amazon tomorrow to find out WTH.

All y’all take care.

Made smoked bourbon chicken for dinner. Watching repeat hockey on the TV.

Harris Teeter has the bag your own bags policy ,too. I don’t mind.

And Florida.

red, Glad you liked it.

Well, at some point today, we got BELOW 1000 calls waiting (still at 900+), with occasional actual time for a deep breath or two between. Back over 1400 calls waiting when I left, though.

Bonus points for screwing up my lunch: intended to make PBJ. Pulled it out of the bag at lunch, discovered I’d omitted the PB. Bread tasted funky, too.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 53 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 81 and N.O.S. for the day. Today we shall accomplish laundry and mowage. That’s a bzzzy day for us! Looks like we will have rain comin’ in tomorrow afternoon and into Thursday, so today is a good day to spiff up da yahd. Sup shall be sketties 'n meatballs, sallit, and cheesey garlic bread. YUM!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

**FCD **and Daughter decided that social distancing tattooing involves darts. I guess Jawja’s gov didn’t want to be upstaged by FL’s gov opening the beaches in Jax. I am soooooo glad I moved away from that area!!!

Just finished my PB&J on toast and I’m composing a shopping list. Gonna make an early run to WalMart and Aldi to start my day. Then I’m going to try to get SIL to help me organize the garage attic. I talked to him about it yesterday. The trick will be doing it while Roxy naps, I guess.

And [trumpet fanfare] this morning, after several months of plateau and some ups and downs, I have officially hit 60# lost from my max! The smaller jeans I bought are starting to feel baggy. I’ve been using an on-line food-and-exercise tracker and it seems to be an excellent motivator. Too bad it took me till this age to learn to eat properly. But yay anyway!

Onward! Happy Tuesday!

Mornin’!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to start the day. I have some irk to do from home, then the chores lined up are to [del]shovel[/del] clean out the car as much as possible with the donation boxes in the backseat. This would be a lot easier if my complex had a junk mail can at the mailboxes (we used to, but our last manager removed it and when a couple of residents tried putting another there, she put the whole thing, kit and caboodle, in the dumpster and put up signs saying that that would happen with any future bins), so it tends to go in the little trash basket behind the passenger seat in my car. Sometimes it overflows. :stuck_out_tongue:

Morning all. It’s 61F heading for 74F today and sunshine all around. Nothing on the agenda planned for today, might even take a walk around the area since I seem a lot more folks doing that these days. Otherwise watching Amazon and (probably not) doing some house cleaning.

Red, my junk usually ends up in the passenger seat until trash day, when I clean it out on my way to the trashcan.

FCM, congrats on the weight loss. I could stand to lose that much, but I seem to have stabilized at my current weight (been within #5 of it for the last 6 years) and still not motivated to exercise. Maybe one day.

Nettie, at least I hope the J on the sammich was OK.

swampy, I’ve got mowage planned for tomorrow, rain is not forecast here until Thorsday.

Have a good 2sday all.

Afternoon, all! It’s another sunny and breezy day over here, lovely weather to be outside but I’s going nowhere. We are planning a supermarket expedition tomorrow afternoon but that’s about all. I quite fancy a walk while it’s decent out there though, I’m feeling the need for some fresh air and exercise.

Yesterday I managed to do some indoor exercise but the motivation for it isn’t really there. However, got on the scales this morning and realised that I’ve probably gained a fair chunk of what mooom has lost  Entirely my own fault, I didn’t do much of anything for the while of January after mum died, kind of got back to the gym in February but then they had to shut and we had to stay at home so you can guess the end result.

I just need to get myself motivated and actually do something. We’re not eating more than usual, although we are having cocktail night every Friday as a means of celebrating getting to the end of another week. So, time to dig out the exercise plans and get on with something.

Working from home continues to be irritating in different ways. Connection problems, access problems, the fact that I can’t save things to the correct place some days and other days I can…and today (as usual) I’ve been told there’s a big bit of work to do by tomorrow lunchtime and I’m still waiting for people to get back to me with the important info so I can get on with it.

Beck, I bought a bamboo “jail” for my bread loaves. The upright bars are actually cutting guides so you can produce slices that will make regulation-size sammiches and slices that will actually fit in the toaster! There are at least half-a-dozen vendors selling the exact same jail on da Jungle. I bought the one with a slicing knife included!

FCM, the misshapen hamburger buns are because you didn’t get the dough into a nice round ball on the cookie sheet. You have to kind of tuck everything under, to give the future hamburger holder that dome shape. Like everything else in Life, it takes practice. COTU#2 and I discovered the extra hamburger buns are perfect for chicken salad sammiches!

God have mercy on our exhausted health care workers, because the surge of idiots protesting, plus the surge of idiots who will flood the beaches/tattoo parlors/massage parlors/trade schools will be dishing out plenty of COVID-19 along with tattoos and massages.

All this yammering of “herd immunity” along with the undercurrent of “let the old and weak die” sounds too much like ethnic cleansing to me. What those idiots are propsing actually means killing off the people with working brains…and then won’t they all be in a pretty pickle?

That’s too much thinking on only one cup of coffee.
~VOW

Back from WalMart. I didn’t go to Aldi since I found everything on my list, then I got home and realized I’d forgotten to put a couple of things on the list. Oh well - next time.

**VOW **- The dough was too dry to form properly, and I didn’t feel like messing with adding a bit of wet, because. No yeast or bread flour at WalMart, so we’ll just have to make do with store-bought bread. Not a big deal.

We’re promised t-boomers this afternoon. I’m not motivated enough to do any outside work this morning, so the yard will remain untouched. As soon as SIL gets up, I’ll be putting his butt to work. Because I can.

And, woohoo, our fed refund has been deposited. Huzzah!!
