A Clarifaction

Valerieblaise, the whole point of bringing up the prison rape thing is that why is it that we have to have protest and demonstrations about date rape and rape, or rape of females in general (not that i support this act), when, in prisons, thousnads of men are getting sexually abused and ALMOST NO ONE ever stands up for them. Definitly not those morons at the mall anyway.

What makes this problem much worse is how, on TV shows and movies, they make fun of the rape of men, but the second someone mentions a women being raped…

As for the men having involuntary erections, aren’t there plenty of drugs that cause erections ? A woman slips something into a man’s drink and the rape ensues. Don’t know how common this would be but I’m surprised that a drug induced erection hasn’t been mentioned yet. (Or did I miss it, I was reading fast?)

[Hello, Useless Medical Information Man!]

Fear, as a man might encounter if he were being held against his will at gunpoint or otherwise, is not at all conducive to getting one’s wang on.

We have two opposing autonomic nervous systems–the sympathetic, or “fight or flight”, and the parasympathetic, or “rest and digest”. Fear generally activates the sympathetic system, while an erection is a parasympathetic response. (Ejaculation, on the other hand, is sympathetic. As every good med student knows–parasympathetic puts it up, sympathetic spurts it out.)

This being the case, a cholinergic agonist (that is, a drug that cranks up the parasympathetic response) would possibly cause involuntary wood, but I’m not sure of any details. (They never tell you what you need to know in pharmacology.)
