There are so many Monty Python freaks here at the SDMB that I would expect more responses to Threads like this one started by Brainiac4 and this one started by Shirley Ujest.
I imagine the reason for the lack of attention would be the lack of description in the Thread titles. Now I’m one who always prefers wacky Thread titles to descriptive ones, but, just in case there are some Python fans who would like to weigh in on this who were unaware of the other Threads, I’m posting here to draw attention to the matter.
Of course it’s also possible that people just don’t care about a Holy Grail Broadway Musical, but I simply can’t accept that.
I care! But I suppose that was obvious from my OP in the other thread.
I am apprehensive about this. I revere Monty Python – I grew up watching the first run of the episodes on American TV, and the sketches are burned into my brain. I learned about comedy from the Pythons, and I worry that the adaptation will not capture the madcap intensity paired with refinement that made their stuff so good. And Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of my all-time favorite movies. So I worry that the adaptation will not do justice to the source.
On the other hand, the casting choices are very good. I have high hopes to go with my apprehension.
How’s that for conflicted?
