Lots of science on the video. But you wouldn’t know that, would you.

I don’t know about anyone else, but if my breath smelled like rotting meat, I’d be looking farther than a video by some doctor who’s credentials seem to be in question. Like maybe A REAL DOCTOR.
Maybe you are lactose intolerant. Maybe you have acid reflux (I know my acid reflux is set off by spicy foods, which often contain meat). Maybe you were eating a lot of junk food. Maybe you weren’t storing or freezing your dairy and meat properly. Maybe you have one of a whole host of other conditions.
The point is, you just don’t know. There are lots of factors in a persons diet, and many of them have nothing to do with meat eating or milk drinking. Also, often when people become vegetarians or vegans, they become obsessed with everything they put in their mouth, and start paying attention to fat grams, calories, and vitamin and mineral content. If you do that, of course you will feel better - it still has nothing to do with meat or milk. I think there’s also a bit of placebo effect going on - you think you should feel better, so you do.
Anyways, that’s my rant. I’m sick of people telling me I’m poisoning my body and trying to convince me of various half-baked bunk.
I always end up asking myself, “Why? - Why bother?” I guess it’s because there have been several with whom I’ve shared and they’ve studied it out for themselves and found it to be true. Others come up with a hundred different arguments, (usually because they heard them from someone else). A few of them are listed here, and it’s not the first time I’ve heard them. In my book, they have no room to talk because they have not tested it out for themselves. They know not of which they speak. They’re just repeating someone else’s words. I got Dr. Klaper’s tape and put it to the test in my own life, finding the information to be true and sound. Results do not lie.
So, as with my original post on this matter, I am passing on something that I found to be true. I hope that some will find the information helpful and test it for themselves.
So, I am done now. Others may post their protests (which are usually the words of others). But remember, if you’re one of those protesting people, and you have not put it to the test, then you really do not know. I’ve even seen claims made about the tape by others without them ever having watched the video - so how can they possibly know?
Signing off on this subject.
Best of health to all,
Sheri

Like maybe A REAL DOCTOR.
Sorry. I didn’t see this post before “signing off”. Michael Klaper, M.D. (Just in case you don’t know, M.D. stands for Medical Doctor, which equals “A REAL DOCTOR”. I don’t see an M.D. after your name. Perhaps Michael Klaper, M.D. might just know a thing or two that you do not. Like I said, several times now, if you really want to know what he says, get the video. If not - oh well, your loss.

P.S. One more thing. I’ve noticed that the opposition here is into name calling, i.e. “quack” , “dyed in the wool crazy quack”. When I see these insults, I take everything else they say with more than a grain of salt. It’s just plain rude, and makes me wonder about their character.
Okay, now enough said. I think I’ve made my point quite clear.
Sheri, if you’re really interested in the science of this, and not just pushing veganism, you might want to take a look around this site.
Just because somebody is a medical doctor does not mean their word is infallable. There are many quack doctors out there, and I can provide many REAL doctors opinions that differ from his guy that thinks vitamin C prevents colds. Take this cite for instance, written by a Ph.D “doctor” and edited by a M.D (as you term a “real” doctor, never mind that a doctor only knows as much as those Ph.D “Fake doctors” discover and pass on to the “Real doctor”)
forgot to post the link: http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/DSH/colds.html
You know what I do when I feel a cold coming on? Absolutely nothing. And that works, too! I beat the cold, every time!
One might note, by the way, that Dr. Atkins was also an MD, and he advised a diet that’s pretty nearly the exact opposite of that advised by this Dr. Klaper. If we are to accept that the word of an MD is necessarily reliable, then which of these two doctors are we to trust? A much more reasonable conclusion would be that doctors are not infallible, and that one or both of these two doctors is wrong.
You were even before you begun. This is a forum for discussion of establishable fact. There is no scientific, peer-reviewed research to support the claims of your doctor. In fact, the research shows the echinacea is no better than a placebo.
And speaking of placebos. Do you feel at least 10% better on a vegan diet? If yes, you would have done just as well with sugar pills.
Think shill be back?
Ouch!
I know the above was meant well, but, as it stands, the logical errors make my head hurt!
Sorry, I know I said I was done commenting on this issue, but I had to post this link: http://www.atkinsdietalert.org/
I agree with what you said about not trusting someone just because he/she is a doctor. The only way to know for sure is to put it to the test. Results do not lie.
For instance, (sorry, this is gross), I used to suffer from constipation on a regular basis (meaning that I wasn’t “regular”). This was always a problem for me since childhood. Then, I watched in agony as my children began suffering as well. It would break my heart to hear them cry as they sat on the toilet trying to pass their bowels. I would eat prunes, eat more fiber, etc. and have my children do the same, but those things never solved the problem completely. Then we became vegan and haven’t had a problem with constipation since - and that’s been 2 years. Now things move like clockwork and no more hard bowel movements. Soft, easy and regular (which means daily and oft times more than one a day). Great elimination which keeps the body cleaned out.
I also used to suffer from severe acne. As soon as I got all the animal products out of my system, it cleared right up. I had tried everything on the market! Nothing worked! Now I have beautiful skin for the first time since before I hit puberty. AWESOME!!!
These are just a couple of examples of personal results that do not lie.
I would never go back to the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.). I don’t want to go back to all those problems.
I am not here as a professional. Just someone who has put this information to the test and now wanting to share what I’ve come to learn for myself. We cannot just take someone’s word for it in matters such as these. The only way for us to know for sure is to, like I said, put it to the test.
I have nothing to gain here. I am not associated in any way with the video, except that I purchased it, watched it, put the information to the test and now I’m a believer.
Now I will try not to comment any further. I do not want to try and convince the world, but I feel that this thread is turning into exactly that. But I find it hard to stay silent when I believe in something so strongly as this. I’m just a person sharing something that I found, hoping that others may be helped as was I.

P.S. You are very lucky. But I’m afraid the majority does not share in your good fortune. The proof is in the amount of cold medicines on the market.

SHERI:
Methinkest thou protesteth too much!
That’s cute! Made me laugh. And, ya know, I think you’re right. It’s just hard for me to keep it to myself. You know how it is when you find something great - you just want to shout it out to the world!! The only problem I’m finding is that most of the world doesn’t want to listen. However, a few select people do, and have thrived, which gives me great satisfaction - knowing that I’ve helped others by sharing.
Thanks for brightening up my day!
Sheri
Funny, when I doubled the amount of meat in my diet, my whites got brighter and my kitchen floor was never so clean and shiny!
Ya know, Moriah, you must be a very unhappy person. Everything I’ve read from you has been rude and negative. I hope I am wrong. But, if not, I hope you find happiness and contentment very soon, and therefore will be able to show kindness to others.
Have a great day!

You’re making a couple of very basic logical errors here. As one person put it, “The plural of anecdote is not evidence.”
Your personal experience is important to you but it’s effecitively useless in demonstrating anything to anyone else. As many people have pointed out here, there are many possible reasons why things may have changed for you. It is a fallacy to attribute it to veganism. Post hoc ergo propter hoc.
In my opinion, while there is a logical case to be made (just) for vegetarianism, there isn’t one for veganism. In fact, in its more extreme forms, veganism is a type of obsessive behavior.
Anyway, you’d probably get a better response in IMHO. This forum, along with GD and GQ are pretty rigorousm, proof wise. You’re not going to find any validation for your personal experience here.
You know, now that I think about it, you’d probably get a really warm response if you posted a pro-vegan rant in the BBQ Pit forum. There’s lots of red meat eaters over there.
Thank you. I am now very aware of the collective character of the type of people that post here. The majority are negative and rude. Not a place where I want to be.
Sheri
Yes, we’re rude to people who spit in the face of logic and science.
Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
